π§ Movement is one of the brain's first teachers.
Rocking activities provide children with vestibular input, which comes from the inner ear and helps the brain understand balance, movement, and spatial awareness. As children rock back and forth, their brains process information about where their bodies are in space and how to adjust their movements.
A well-developed vestibular system supports more than just physical play. It also contributes to posture, coordination, attention, eye tracking, and confidence during everyday activities like climbing stairs, catching a ball, or sitting upright during story time.
At BTB, we intentionally include movement-rich experiences because we know that learning isn't confined to a table or worksheet. Sometimes, the simplest moments of play help build the strongest foundations for future learning. π
