One place. A lot of ways to get support. 🤍

At Restoration Psychology, we’ve built a team with a wide range of specialties, so you don’t have to look in five different places to find the support you need.

Individuals, couples and families, play therapy, psychological testing, medication management, and so much more. Whatever season you’re in, we want to help you find the right fit.

Because sometimes, finding the right support starts with knowing where to look.

Ministry leaders often find themselves walking alongside people through some of life’s hardest moments. But what happens when someone’s needs go beyond what you’re equipped to provide?

For Stacey, encountering suicidal ideation and self harm within her congregation made her realize just how important it is for ministry leaders to understand mental health and know when to bring in professional support.

You don’t have to have all the answers. Knowing when to refer is part of caring well.

There’s a power dynamic in therapy that we don’t talk about enough.

Your therapist has expertise, authority, and access to parts of your life that most people don’t.

A good therapist acknowledges that power instead of pretending it isn’t there.

Because therapy should feel collaborative, not one-sided.

Sometimes caring deeply about someone can make us feel responsible for fixing everything they’re going through.

But we can’t do that for someone else.

We can listen. We can support. We can walk alongside them. But ultimately, their healing isn’t ours to carry.

If you spend a lot of your time caring for others, this is a good reminder to consider what’s yours to carry—and what isn’t.

A reminder for those who serve in ministry:
You can help people without taking responsibility for saving them.

Sometimes the hardest part of ministry is recognizing what is—and isn’t—ours to carry.

Sometimes, what we see as a lack of effort may have more behind it.

Psychological testing can help you better understand your strengths, challenges, and the factors that may be affecting how you learn, focus, think, or function.

You don’t have to keep guessing.

🧸What if your child could talk about something difficult without having to talk about it directly?

That’s one of the benefits of play therapy for children. Through puppets, toys, and pretend play, children can create some separation from real-life situations while still expressing real feelings.

🎧 Tyler Martawibawa, LMFT, talks more about play therapy and how children communicate through play on the Restoration Psychology Podcast.

What makes play therapy work?

For children, play can create a little distance from difficult experiences while giving them a way to express real feelings.

Sometimes, what a child can’t say directly can come out through play.
