What do you reach for when the first sniffles show up in your house?

With kids back in school, it seems like the runny noses, coughs and sore throats have already begun making their rounds.

Elderberry syrup is one of my favorite remedies to have on hand during cold and flu season. Research suggests that elderberry may help support the immune system and may reduce the severity and duration of cold and flu symptoms when taken early.

I have a small batch of elderberry syrup available before I leave town next week.

Rose has been a thread running through my August.

We spent time with her in the rose garden during my Rose class, included her in our seasonal transition work at Hudson Gardens and returned to her again this weekend during Rooted in the Garden.

Soft petals. Sharp thorns.

Rose reminds us that we can remain tender and open while still holding our boundaries.

I wanted to share a little of what we’ve been exploring with you, too.
