Multiple hernia recurrences with even large intraabdominal mesh (IPUM) does not necessarily require open surgery. Robotic Da Vinci Surgery allows to perform durable repair via small incisions and significantly speed up recovery - from 3 nights at the hospital to overnight stay, less pain and complications, particularly with higher body weight.

Welcome Dr. Saran Kunaprayoon Saran Kunaprayoon to Stony Brook AWR fellowship! We are excited to have a genuine hernia enthusiast joining our crew!
Dr Kunaprayoon is coming to us having completed general surgery residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He earned his medical degree from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in 2021. During his final years at Sinai he developed strong interest in MIS and hernia surgery, worked with leaders in the field such as Dr. Brian Jacob Brian Jacob and Dr. Flavio Malcher Flavio Malcher .
