This week we recognize MRI Safety Week—a time to raise awareness about the importance of safety before, during, and after every MRI exam.

While MRI does not use ionizing radiation, it does use an extremely powerful magnetic field. That's why it's essential to tell your imaging team about any implanted medical devices, metal fragments, or other concerns before your scan. Even everyday items like jewelry, keys, hearing aids, and credit cards should never enter the MRI room.

Due to the projected path of Hurricane Francine, Capitol Imaging Services will close the following sites on Wednesday, September 11th, with plans to reopen on Thursday, September 12th:

- New Orleans Area - All Southshore and Northshore sites
- Baton Rouge - All sites
- Lafayette - Advanced Imaging of Lafayette
- Lake Charles - LA PET/CT of Lake Charles
