Gentle Strength is officially launching our GoFundMe to bring a Community Herb Shop to the Southside/Westend Neighborhood in Providence!!! We aren’t building just a retail space, it’s also a much needed third space based on community resilience and health sovereignty.🌿✨

Our goal is to create a space for community-led wellness, education, and accessible herbal remedies.
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and now we need your help to cross the finish line. šŸ

How you can support:
1ļøāƒ£ Donate: Every bit helps us secure our space and stock our shelves.
2ļøāƒ£ Share: Post this to your stories or tag a friend who loves local herbs!
3ļøāƒ£ Visit: Link in bio to read our full story and contribute.

Also if you want us to teach an herbal class or workshop, please reach out, we love to collaborate!!!

We were proud to host a Meet the Doulas event at Landmark Medical Center, bringing together local doulas, providers, and community members dedicated to supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.

Held during Black Maternal Health Week, this event highlighted the importance of equitable, respectful, and culturally responsive care for all birthing individuals. We’re grateful to partner with organizations like Doulas of Rhode Island to help connect our community with these valuable resources.

Please sign this open letter! A safe home is essential for our expecting families, and the birth right of the babies being birthed into our community

Our Homes. Our Dignity. Renters Deserve Stability. Read and sign on to our Open Letter demanding all Providence City Councilors and Mayor Brett Smiley protect renters and pass Rent Stabilization.

The Providence Rent Stabilization bill passed its first vote at City Council! The ordinance needs to pass again on April 16th, and overcome the Mayor’s expected veto, in order to become law. Rent Stabilization is a modest policy to protect Providence residents now!

We are calling on our elected officials to keep all our homes affordable and fight displacement with Rent Stabilization in Providence.

Repost from Ready Set Latch Go, LLC on Facebook and an important reminder that there is much to be done.

Today is a day to celebrate! šŸŽ‰ The Newport Birthing Center staying open is a HUGE victory for our community, our families, and our future.

This didn’t happen by accident, it happened because people showed up, spoke out, and refused to let this resource be taken away.

At the same time, we have to remember: this is not the finish line, it’s a milestone.

There is still important work ahead. We know that sustaining the birthing center will require approximately $4.7 million each year. While there is a plan in place, it’s okay, and necessary for the community to have questions.

How will these funds be raised? How will sustainability be ensured long-term? What does accountability look like?

Our voices got us this win, and our continued engagement is what will protect it.

So let’s celebrate this moment because it matters. But let’s also stay informed, stay asking questions, and stay involved.

Our families deserve transparency, stability, and care that we can trust for generations to come.

There is still important work ahead. We know that sustaining the birthing center will require approximately $4.9 million each year. While there is a plan in place, it’s okay, and necessary for the community to have questions.
