Building strength after ACL reconstruction is ESSENTIAL. But strength alone doesn’t prepare you for everything that happens on the field or court.
Sports are unpredictable. Athletes have to react, stabilize, change direction, and control their bodies when things don’t go according to plan.
That’s why we incorporate exercises like this single-arm kettlebell swing with a lunge into advanced ACL rehab.
🏋️♂️ Why add the unpredictability?
✅ Challenge dynamic stability and postural control.
✅ Train the body to manage shifting loads and changing demands.
✅ Develop coordination while maintaining control of the lower extremity.
✅ Progress toward the reactive, unpredictable demands of competition.
The goal isn’t to make an exercise look fancy. It’s to progressively prepare the athlete for the demands of their sport.
Because returning to sport after ACL reconstruction isn’t just about getting stronger. It’s about building the capacity to perform when the game gets unpredictable.
At OFF THE BLOCK, we don’t just rehab athletes to get back on the field. We prepare them to compete.
