Bobbie Preston Rorie was born on January 10, 1955, to the late Daniel Rorie and Pearlie Rorie. He was a hardworking man who held various jobs throughout his life, including working with Home Builders of Lumberton, NC, Whiteville City Schools, and in masonry. He was truly a jack of all trades. Bobbie attended West Columbus High School and was known as a people person who was loved by many in both his family and the community.
Bobbie was married to the late Evelyn Rorie, whom he loved very dearly. When you saw one, you definitely saw the other.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Regina Lloyd of Sumter, SC; Lisa Logan of Chadbourn, NC; Jeremy Stephens (Christie) of Clarendon, NC; Malcolm Logan (Brenda) of Creswell, NC; and Ricky Logan of Whiteville, NC.
He is also survived by two sisters, Lee Ethel Kelly and Sarah Faulk, both of Chadbourn, NC; and two brothers, Winfred Rorie (Felisa) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Wilfred Rorie of Chadbourn, NC. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Leon Rorie, and two sisters, Marcella Rorie and Wanda Badey.
Bobbie leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren, including two grands reared in the home, lovingly known as " Tasha" and "Nuke." He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.
He is further survived by sisters-in-law Yolonda Rorie of Delco, NC, and Ruth Ward of Hallsboro, NC; one brother-in-law, Tony Ward of Whiteville, NC; and a special friend Ronny Frink.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of D&A Funeral Services, 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn, North Carolina and at the church following the service.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, located at 505 South Wilkes Street in Chadbourn, North Carolina, with Pastor Virgil Reaves eulogist. Interment will follow at Campground Cemetery, 1309 Highway 701 Bypass North, Whiteville, NC 28472.
