School’s out for the summer, but child labor laws never take a vacation.

Working teens aged 14 through 17, with few exceptions: If you’re planning to earn money during your summer break, it’s important you know your rights when school is not in session. Employers: if you’re hiring teens this summer, you’re responsible for making sure schedules, duties, and working conditions all follow the law. A safe, legal workplace benefits everyone.
