Willard "Bill" Flloyd Daniels Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated community member, passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on April 22, 1939, in Huntington, West Virginia, Bill was the son of Willard F. Daniels Sr. and Minnie Lou Peters Daniels.
Bill's life was centered on devotion, compassion, and service. He shared an extraordinary 61 year marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Virginia Deacon, whom he married on June 19, 1965, in Huntington, WV. Together, they built a family filled with love and raised their children in Huntington. In 2003, they moved to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania in order to be closer to their grandchildren. Bill's proudest accomplishment was being a grandfather.
He was a proud alumnus of Vinson High School, Marshall University, and the Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine. He served his country with distinction as a member of the US Army, stationed in Germany from 1966 to 1969. After his military service, Bill returned to his hometown to work alongside his father at their Family Medicine practice for 3 years. His career in medicine was marked by dedication and excellence, with tenure at Cabell-Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital where he worked in the Emergency Departments for 26 years.
