That heavy, dragging, “something feels off” sensation?
It’s one of the most misunderstood pelvic floor symptoms.
And no—it’s not automatically prolapse.
Your body is giving you information. The key is figuring out WHY.

Sometimes your pelvic floor doesn’t need another exercise. Sometimes it needs a place to exhale. 🤍

This supported reclined butterfly position is one of my favorite pelvic floor resets → helping encourage relaxation, deeper breathing, less gripping, and giving your nervous system permission to soften.

Especially helpful when your body feels like it’s been holding… pregnancy, postpartum, stress, workouts, life.

Your pelvic floor doesn’t only need strength.
It also needs coordination, mobility, and the ability to let go ✨

Save this for later and come back when your body needs a reset.

Tight ≠ strong. And for the pelvic floor… this matters more than most people think.

If your muscles don’t know how to let go, they can’t generate real strength when you need it.

This is why we focus on:
• relaxation
• coordination
• full range of motion

Not just squeezing.

Save this before your next workout or appointment 🤍

What actually happens at pelvic floor PT during pregnancy? 🤍

A lot more than most people think.

Pregnancy sessions can include assessment, breathing and core coordination, pelvic mobility, birth prep strategies, and perineal prep education — all tailored to how your body is feeling and what you need most.

This kind of care is not just for pain or symptoms. It can also be a proactive way to better support your body during pregnancy and help you feel more prepared for labor, birth, and postpartum recovery.

If you’ve been wondering whether pelvic floor PT during pregnancy could help, this post is a great place to start.

You might want to sit down for this… because pelvic floor PT during pregnancy is about so much more than postpartum recovery!!

If you’re dealing with leaking, pelvic pain, pressure, or painful s*x during pregnancy, your body may be asking for more support. And even if you’re not having major symptoms, pelvic floor PT can also help you prepare for labor, delivery, and recovery.

At Revelle, we believe pregnancy is the time to be proactive — not wait until after birth to start getting help.

✨PT Spotlight✨ Kaitlin!

Kaitlin brings a really special blend of orthopedic training and a holistic, lifestyle-forward lens to pelvic floor care.

She started her career with a strong foundation in orthopedics, then expanded her work to pelvic health because she saw firsthand how interconnected the body really is.

What makes Kaitlin stand out isn’t just her certifications (though, she has plenty). It’s the way she connects with her patients.

She meets women exactly where they are, whether that’s navigating pelvic pain, moving through pregnancy, healing postpartum, or simply wanting to feel stronger and more supported in their bodies.

She listens. She sees the full picture. She makes the process feel less overwhelming and a lot more empowering.

Starting pelvic floor physical therapy for the first time?

We know pelvic floor PT can bring up a LOT of fears and uncertainty.

That’s why one of our biggest priorities is making sure you feel safe, supported, and fully in control every step of the way.

Outside of the cozy space and calming environment we create (we really do love our Revelle clinics 😍), we also:

✨ Explain everything before touching your body
✨ Make sure you’re fully covered with a sheet during internal exams
✨ Remind you that you can say no or pause at any time
✨ Check in often and move at your pace
✨ Never use fear or shame as motivation
✨ Create a plan with you, not for you

Most of our patients are surprised by how different their visits feel, more like hanging out with a friend they trust than a typical clinical appointment.

Like… who knew you could actually look forward to pelvic floor PT? 😉

Come book an appointment and see for yourself! 💕

Spoiler alert: If you have a pelvic floor, you qualify 💁‍♀️

While pregnancy and postpartum are our bread and butter at Revelle, pelvic floor PT is not just for new moms!

This is one of the biggest misconceptions we hear and we putting it to rest because every single woman can benefit from it.

We see people every single day who’ve never had kids but have been living with symptoms they’ve brushed off for way too long:

👉 Leaking when you sneeze, laugh, or workout
👉 Chronic pelvic, hip, or low back pain
👉 Peeing “just in case” before you leave the house
👉 Feeling pressure, tightness, or heaviness down there
👉 Pain with s*x or tampon insertion
👉 Core weakness that just won’t improve

These are ALLLL signs of pelvic floor dysfunction and the best part?

It is 100% treatable.
