Can a paycheck cost you more than it pays? đźš©

Early in my career, I thought I was saying yes to a huge opportunity. Instead, I found myself navigating toxic power dynamics, blurred boundaries, and the heavy emotional weight of feeling financially trapped.

Here is the truth: not all money is good money.

Financial trauma does not just come from debt or bankruptcy. It also happens when workplace dynamics force you to sacrifice your peace, health, and values just to keep your head above water.

In my latest blog post and new episode of Finance, Fitness & Finesse titled "Not All Money Is Good Money: The Hidden Cost of Toxic Professional Relationships," I am opening up about one of my most personal money stories and sharing:

*How to identify toxic professional relationships before they drain you
*The hidden intersection of career pressure, power dynamics, and financial therapy
*3 actionable steps to build healthier boundaries and make choices from intention rather than fear

Healing your relationship with money starts with setting boundaries for your peace.

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why you handle money the way you do?

Your spending habits, financial anxiety, saving patterns, and even your relationship with wealth may have less to do with your paycheck and more to do with what you learned growing up.

In this episode of Finance, Fitness & Finesse, Dr. Joaquin Wallace breaks down his concept of your Financial Genetic Code and explains how family experiences, money beliefs, financial trauma, and generational patterns shape the financial decisions you make today.

If you're interested in financial literacy, behavioral finance, money mindset, financial psychology, or building generational wealth, this conversation is a must-listen.

Most people think generational wealth starts with money.

Dr. Joaquin Wallace challenged that idea on F3.

Before wealth can be passed down, knowledge has to be passed down. Financial habits, money conversations, lessons learned, and even the beliefs we hold about money all shape what future generations inherit.

JaeVic (Jaelyn Vickery, CFT™) and Dr. Wallace had a powerful conversation about Financial Genetic Code, how family experiences influence financial behavior, and what it takes to break unhealthy money patterns.

You weren’t taught how money actually works… but you’re expected to figure it out anyway.

That’s exactly why Finance, Fitness & Finesse (F3) exists.

F3 is a financial wellness podcast hosted by financial therapist, JaeVic, helping adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s build financial literacy, strengthen their money mindset, reduce money anxiety, and create a healthier relationship with wealth, spending habits, and financial behavior.

From kitchen table beginnings to an official partnership with WCIA and Nexstar Media Group, F3 is redefining how we talk about money by bridging financial coaching, real-life money stories, and financial education in a way that actually feels human and applicable.

The only way to learn about money is to talk about money. Otherwise,
“You’re not woke, you’re broke!”™

F3 is more than a podcast. It is where financial therapy meets real life, and where we unpack the psychology of money, emotional spending patterns, budgeting struggles, and the habits that shape your financial future.

Read the full story behind F3, the mission, and what's next on jaevic.com.

Stay tuned for Season 4 episodes dropping soon on your favorite podcast platform. In the meantime, get exclusive early access before everyone else on WCIA3+.
