Thursday Thoughts! Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that crying is a sign of weakness.

It isn't.

Tears are one of the ways our minds and bodies process pain, stress, grief, disappointment, and even overwhelming joy. Crying doesn't mean you're falling apart—it often means you're releasing what you've been carrying.

Real strength isn't pretending everything is fine. Strength is allowing yourself to feel, to heal, and to be human.

So if today brings tears, don't be ashamed of them. Be gentle with yourself. 💙

Hello, June.

A new month is a chance to reset, refocus and give yourself grace for wherever you are right now. You do not have to have everything figured out to move forward. Small steps, healthy boundaries, moments of rest and asking for support all matter. Let this be your reminder to check in with yourself and make your mental health a priority.

From all of us at HopeSprings Counseling Services, we’re wishing you a month filled with healing, growth and hope. And remember, we are just a phone call away.

Happy Hump Day. Give yourself permission to rest and recharge today. The world can wait a few minutes. Logging off, lying down and letting your creativity breathe are three kinds of rest, all equally important!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Their sacrifice reminds us of the strength, courage and compassion that connect us all. As we spend time with family and loved ones this weekend, we hold close the memory of those who made that freedom possible.

From all of us at HopeSprings Counseling Services, we thank and remember our fallen heroes today and always. ❤️🤍💙

As the school year winds down, many parents are feeling two things at once: excitement for summer memories… and stress about how to keep kids busy, supported and regulated for weeks at home. ☀️

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the change in routine, you are not alone. Summer can bring more noise, more needs, less structure and a lot of pressure to “make it magical.” But kids don’t need a perfect summer. They need connection, consistency and moments that make them feel safe and loved.

A few simple things can help:
🌿 Keep a loose routine
🌿 Make time for rest and quiet moments
🌿 Get outside when you can
🌿 Let boredom spark creativity
🌿 Give yourself grace on the hard days

And remember — taking care of your own mental health matters too. 💚

From all of us at HopeSprings Counseling Services, we’re cheering you on as you head into a new season with your family.

Did you know volunteering helps with your mental health? Last year, Psychology Today published a peer-reviewed blog post referencing studies that prove that long-term volunteering is not only good for the community, but provides mental and physical benefits to the volunteer. This post mentions another paper that reveals "regularly volunteering has positive effects on depression, life satisfaction and wellbeing."

Furthermore, it states that volunteering with your children not only provides them with additional skills, it also builds healthy habits, fosters familial and community connections and reveals that "children and teens who volunteer are less likely to experience anxiety and behavioral problems, and can even reduce feelings of social isolation. Check out volunteer opportunities in your community for you and your family!
