Happy Memorial Day from all of us at Gambit Recovery.
šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø
Today is bigger than cookouts or days off work. It’s a day to recognize and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country and the families who continue to carry that loss every day. We don’t take that sacrifice lightly.

This weekend in Arizona was a reminder of something powerful, recovery brings people together. Residents, alumni, families, and friends all showing up side by side. Laughing, eating together, telling stories, supporting one another, and building real connections without alcohol or drugs involved.

For many people in recovery, holidays used to look very different. Isolation, chaos, guilt, or just trying to make it through the day. Seeing our community come together the way it did today is a reminder that sobriety is not about losing a life… it’s about getting one back.

We’re grateful for every resident fighting for a better future, every alumni continuing to grow, every family rebuilding trust, and every person choosing to stay sober today.

Have a safe Memorial Day. Stay connected, check on each other, and never forget what this day represents.

2 Years Sober for
šŸ”„
When James first came into Gambit Recovery, he had what so many people walk through our doors with, hope mixed with frustration, uncertainty, and a long list of obstacles in front of him. What stands out about James is that he never stopped pushing forward. Even when things weren’t easy, even when life tested him, he kept showing up and choosing growth over excuses.

Over the last 2 years, we’ve watched him become stronger in every area of his life. Not just in sobriety, but as a son, a friend, and a valued member of this recovery community. The way he carries himself today is completely different. More grounded. More accountable. More present for the people around him.

Recovery is not just about putting substances down. It’s about learning how to live differently, handle life differently, and become someone others can rely on. James has done exactly that.

His determination to better himself has created real change, and that change reaches far beyond him. The guys around him see it. The community feels it. He’s proof that consistency, humility, and hard work can completely transform a life over time.

2 years sober is a massive accomplishment, and we’re proud to have watched the man he’s becoming.

Congratulations James. Keep inspiring!

3 years sober for

Watching someone grow over time in recovery is one thing. Watching someone truly become a leader, a dependable man, and someone others look up to is something completely different. That’s what we’ve watched happen with Jae.

When Jae first came into the houses, like so many of us, he was trying to figure life out again. We’ve watched Jae build himself into someone grounded, responsible, and deeply committed to both his recovery and the people around him.

As a House Manager at our Bishop House, Jae has become someone the guys genuinely trust. He leads by example, checks in on people when they’re struggling, keeps structure in the house, and never hesitates to help someone who needs guidance. The care he has for the residents is real, and people feel it. Whether it’s helping a new resident settle in, having hard conversations when needed, or simply being present, he’s made a huge impact on the house and our community as a whole.

Outside of the houses, one of the biggest things we’ve seen is the way Jae shows up for his family. Recovery gave him the chance to rebuild relationships, be dependable, and become the kind of man his family can lean on and be proud of. That growth matters.

3 years is not luck. It’s consistency. It’s accountability. It’s showing up every day even when life gets difficult. We’re proud of the man Jae has become and grateful to have him as part of Gambit Recovery.

Congratulations Jae. Your story continues to inspire a lot of people around you

1 year sober. An incredible milestone for
šŸ‘

Over this past year, we’ve had the privilege of watching Andrea completely transform her life. Not just in the big moments, but in the everyday things too. The way she carries herself now. The confidence she walks with. The way she speaks, shows up, and handles life with strength instead of chaos.

We’ve watched her rebuild trust, create stability, and strengthen the relationship with her child in a way that has been truly powerful to witness. Recovery doesn’t just change one person, it impacts families, futures, and generations. Andrea has put in the work day after day, even when it wasn’t easy.

What stands out most is the example she sets for other women in recovery. She leads through action. She shows compassion while still holding herself accountable. She’s become someone others look to for encouragement, support, and proof that change is possible.

Andrea came in willing to fight for a better life, and over this past year we’ve watched her grow into it.

We are proud of you, Andrea. Thank you for being such an important part of the Gambit Recovery community and for showing others what recovery can look like.

Happy 1 year sober! šŸ’œ

1 year sober for James L.
šŸ’Ŗ
James came into our Poulsbo community like so many people do. A little lost. Frustrated. Trying to figure life out again. But underneath all of that, there was still hope. That matters.

Over this last year, we’ve watched him completely change the direction of his life through consistency, accountability, and putting recovery first even on the hard days. What started as simply trying to stay sober turned into something much bigger.

James became someone of service to others. Someone people lean on. Someone residents go to when they need advice, support, or just somebody to listen. He found employment, stayed focused, got himself a car, and kept building momentum instead of excuses.

That’s the part people don’t always see about recovery. It’s not just about stopping substances. It’s about becoming dependable again. Building confidence. Becoming part of a community instead of isolating from it.

James has added a lot to the culture at Gambit Recovery in Poulsbo. His growth, attitude, and willingness to help others has made an impact on the people around him.

We’re proud of you, brother. One year is a huge accomplishment, but even more impressive is the person you’ve become along the way. Keep inspiring!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. The ones raising kids, the ones healing while trying to be better for their families, the grandmothers, stepmoms, foster moms, and the women who show up and love people like their own.

Today can mean a lot of different things for different people. For some it’s celebration. For others it’s grief, regret, distance, or remembering someone no longer here. Whatever today looks like for you, just know you’re not alone in it.

At Gambit Recovery we’ve watched mothers rebuild relationships that once felt impossible. We’ve seen phone calls turn into visits, visits turn into trust, and trust turn into real connection again. Recovery doesn’t just change one person, it changes families.

To every mom fighting, trying, showing up, or simply making it through the day, we see you. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Gambit Recovery.

Shane M with Two years sober!!

That is huge. Not just because it looks good on paper, but because of everything it took to get there. The nights, the pressure, the moments nobody else saw, and the decision over and over again to keep going anyway.

Shane came into the houses as the quiet kid in the corner. Kept to himself. Observed more than he talked. Over time though, we watched something happen that honestly has been pretty incredible to see. That quiet guy became an outspoken member of the community. Then became a leader. Then became a House Manager who has helped make this entire community stronger.

There have been situations over the last couple years that would have folded a lot of people. Stress, pressure, heavy moments, real life hitting hard. Shane handled it all with what looked like the greatest ease. Even when things got difficult, he stayed standing. Stayed sober. Stayed consistent.

Some people may mistake his bluntness or directness for being rude, but we know what it really is. It’s pride. Pride in the Gambit Recovery community. Pride in recovery. Pride in standards. Pride in wanting people around him to do better and be better.

That matters.

Shane isn’t just somebody who lives in the houses. He’s somebody who helped shape the culture inside them. He’s a valued member of Gambit Recovery, a friend, and somebody we’re genuinely proud of.

Two years sober is no small thing. It’s earned.

Proud of you, brother. Keep inspiring.

out in Poulsbo, WA took some of the Nelson and Howlett house guys out to watch Mortal Kombat 2 tonight.

Something as simple as a movie night might not seem like much to most people, but for a lot of us this is the stuff that recovery is built on. Getting out of the house, laughing, quoting terrible lines from movies, arguing over who had the best fight scene, smashing snacks, and just being around other sober people.

A lot of us spent years isolated, checked out, or surrounded by chaos. Nights like this remind people that life doesn’t end when substances do. You can still have fun, build friendships, and make memories without destroying your life in the process.

Appreciate Alex continuing to create community out in Washington and helping make these houses feel like more than just a place to sleep

Big congratulations to on receiving his 90 Day Certificate.

We know this isn’t his first time around, and honestly that makes us even more proud of him today. Recovery isn’t about never falling down. It’s about getting back up again with more honesty, more grit, and more determination than before. Tyler kept showing up. Kept pushing forward. Kept fighting for a better version of himself even when it would’ve been easier to quit.

Over these last 90 days, he’s stepped up in a lot of ways and continues to grow into someone others around him can count on.

And being the insane drummer that he is, maybe it makes sense…sober living is a lot like keeping tempo. One person rushing ahead or falling behind can throw the whole rhythm off. Tyler has learned how to stay in sync, stay consistent, and help keep the beat moving forward around the house.

Proud of you, brother. 90 days is huge. Keep building.

Adam D walked through our doors in Poulsbo looking for something different. Today, he’s living it.

2 YEARS SOBER.

What stands out most isn’t just the time, it’s who he’s become along the way. Adam shows up with real compassion for the people around him. He pays attention, he cares, and he’s the kind of person others lean on without even thinking about it.

He’s back in college, building a future that once probably felt out of reach. He’s still got that love for singing, and if you’ve been around him, you know it brings a different kind of energy into the house.

Truth is… we don’t think he’d even recognize the version of himself from two years ago.

That’s what this is about. Not just getting sober, becoming someone new.

Proud of the man you are today, Adam. Keep inspiring.
