Simplified Lifestyle Coaching I help women who struggle with perimenopausal mood swings feel normal again so they can actually enjoy life. Get my free Protein Guide... link below!

I help women over 40 escape the physical and emotional chaos of hormonal changes using a holistic approach, so they can feel like themselves again and fully embrace this stage of life. As a board-certified functional medicine health coach, I believe women shouldn’t have to struggle with anxiety, brain fog, depression, or stubborn weight gain. You deserve to feel strong, steady, and like yourself a

gain. And it starts with how you fuel your body. If you’ve been feeling anxious, exhausted, and like your body is working against you, you’re not alone. This isn’t just aging—it’s the menopause transition. And it’s your body asking for support. That’s why I created The Protein Fix—a simple starting point to help you feel better quickly. Protein is one of the most powerful nutrients for maintaining steady energy, promoting balanced moods, enhancing focus, and keeping you feeling full throughout your day. I wish I had this kind of guide when I was trying to make sense of what was happening to my mind and body. Once I started fueling myself with what I actually needed, everything shifted. You’re not crazy. You’re not failing. And you’re definitely not alone. Let’s help you feel like you again.

Hi, I’m Jenny. 👋

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a little about who I am and why I do what I do.

I am not the picture of perfect health. No one really is.

I do what I do because I know what it feels like to know something isn’t right in your body and not understand why.

I know what it feels like to be exhausted, anxious, depressed, gaining weight, and wondering, What is happening to me?

And I know what it feels like to be given a prescription without anyone helping me understand what was actually happening underneath it all.

Learning that I was in perimenopause AND had developed prediabetes changed the trajectory of my life.

It also made me think about my parents and the health challenges that took them both far too young.

I decided to do all I could to prevent health challenges that could affect my quality of life.

And somewhere along the way, taking care of my own health turned into a calling to help other women take care of theirs.

Today, my work has evolved beyond teaching women what to eat, how to exercise, or how to support their hormones.

Knowing what to do is only part of it.

Our thoughts, beliefs, and habits matter, too.

That’s why I now blend functional medicine with mind–body practices to help women create change from the inside out.

I believe midlife can be a wake-up call.

A chance to slow down.

A chance to listen to your body.

A chance to take your health seriously.

And maybe even a chance to finally start taking care of YOU after years of taking care of everyone else.

If you’re a woman navigating perimenopause or midlife and thinking, I just want to feel normal again, you’re in the right place.

Dr. Lyz DeBoer joins me on the podcast to talk all about love and relationships.

It’s not uncommon for relationships to go through ups and downs.

But what no one really prepares us for is how perimenopause can make our relationships even more complex as we navigate hormonal changes, mood swings, stress, and everything else that comes with this season of life.

One of the most important things we can do is communicate with our partner about what’s going on with us. How we’re feeling. What we’re experiencing. And what we need from them.

Maybe you need your partner to simply listen. Maybe you need them to do the dishes, take the kids to practice, go grocery shopping, or make the doctor’s appointment.

Whatever it is, we have to ask for what we need.

Because as amazing as it would be if our partners could read our minds...most of them can’t. 😂

This has been a hard one for me, and it’s something I’ve had to work on in my own marriage. I grew up in a home where we didn’t really talk about our feelings or ask for what we needed.

But if we want our partner to understand what we’re going through and support us in the ways we actually need, we have to communicate those thoughts and feelings.

Dr. Lyz shares so many other helpful ways we can navigate our relationships while also navigating perimenopause.

No one prepares us for the fact that perimenopause can affect our relationships.

We expect the hot flashes.

We expect the mood swings.

But nobody talks about why your partner suddenly seems so irritating.

The truth is, it isn’t just about your partner.

Changing hormones, poor sleep, chronic stress, caregiving responsibilities, and emotional exhaustion all make it harder to respond with the same patience we once had.

If you can relate to this, please know that your relationship is not doomed.

Small, intentional acts of love can make a big difference.

In this week’s episode of the You’re Not Crazy! It’s Perimenopause podcast, relationship specialist Dr. Lyz Deboer shares practical ways to reconnect with your partner without adding one more thing to your already full plate.

She also shares how her Love Fun formula can help you bring fun back into your relationship.

Dr. Lyz is a love and relationship coach and intuitive therapist, and she recently joined me on the You’re Not Crazy! It’s Perimenopause podcast.

One of the things we talked about is how easy it is to lose connection in a partnership, especially during perimenopause.

She reminds us that it’s often the little things that keep a relationship strong such as bringing each other coffee, filling up the gas tank, unloading the dishwasher, sending a sweet text or note.

Who wouldn’t love that?

Ask yourself, What attracted you to your partner when you first got together? Think about that love and connection. What can you do to get back there?

Dr. Lyz says people change. That’s part of the human experience. But can you change and grow together?

Absolutely! And she shares practical ways to do just that.

This episode is for anyone who wants to rekindle the spark with their partner or is simply feeling disconnected in their relationship.

We also talk about how perimenopause can change the way we communicate, connect, and show up in our relationships, and what we can do about it.

If you’ve been told you’re insulin resistant, this is a warning sign to take seriously.

Insulin resistance means your body’s cells don’t respond well to insulin, making it harder to use sugar for energy, which can lead to cravings, stubborn weight gain, energy crashes, and eventually increase your risk for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

We want to be insulin sensitive. That means your body can use sugar for energy efficiently, helping you feel more energized, experience fewer cravings, and better maintain a healthy weight.

The challenge is that as estrogen declines in perimenopause, many women naturally become insulin resistant, which can lead to more blood sugar swings, increased cravings, stubborn belly fat, and energy crashes.

You can do something about it. What you eat matters.
One of the easiest places to start is by building meals with protein and fiber. Fiber helps slow the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream, keeping your blood sugar more stable and helping you stay full longer.

🎙️ In this week’s episode, I explain what fiber is, the two kinds your body needs, and the best foods to help you have more energy, curb cravings, feel fuller longer, p**p more regularly, and support a healthy weight.

If you’ve been struggling with any of these symptoms, this episode is for you.
