Recovery can feel slow for many athletes for one simple reason: they chase the wrong fix first.
If your body feels tight, off, or slow to bounce back, the first question is not, “How do I stretch more?”
It is, “What is actually limiting movement?”
Sometimes the issue is soft tissue tension. Sometimes it is alignment. Sometimes mobility is limited because the body is guarding around something else.
That is why the order matters.
If you only chase mobility, you may force motion into a system that is still restricted.
If you only chase soft tissue work, you may loosen tissue without addressing why the body keeps tightening up.
If alignment is off, the body may keep compensating no matter how much you roll, stretch, or warm up.
A better first step is a clear assessment.
That helps you figure out whether the main limiter is joint motion, structural alignment, or muscle tension. Once you know that, the plan gets much more specific. Specific care usually beats random recovery routines.
For athletes, that means less guessing and more progress.
It can look like chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy support, and soft tissue work used together in the right order, based on what your body actually needs.
If recovery has felt frustrating lately, start with the thing driving the rest of it.
Get assessed first.
