One question I get almost every week: "Is there anything I can take for dry eye?"

The answer is yes — and omega-3 fatty acids are one of the few supplements with real clinical evidence behind them for dry eye relief. The product I recommend to my patients is PRN De # Omega-3. 👁️ Let's talk about blepharitis — because so many of our patients deal with this and don't realize there's a name (and a fix!) for it.

Take a look at the redness along this lower lid — that's not just irritation.

This photo shows a common but often overlooked pattern we see in-office: an inflamed lower eyelid margin with visible blood vessels, and a lid that isn't sitting fully snug against the eye. That combination is a classic sign of ocular rosacea — a condition affecting the oil-producing glands along the eyelid that disrupts the tear film. It often shows up as fluctuating vision, watery eyes, and a gritty or burning feeling that comes and goes.

Ocular rosacea is easy to write off as "just dry eyes" or allergies, but left untreated it tends to progress and can affect both comfort and vision quality.

The good news: it's very manageable. Treatment usually starts with warm compresses and gentle eyelid massage to get clogged glands flowing again, daily lid hygiene with tea tree oil wipes (we recommend the Optase brand), an artificial tear like Optase Intense for comfort and lubrication, and a daily omega-3 supplement — we recommend PRN DE3 — to support gland function long-term. When home care isn't quite enough, in-office IPL or RF treatments can target the inflammation directly.

If your eyes are chronically red, watery, gritty, or your vision seems to come and go, it might not be your prescription — it might be your eyelids. Let's take a look.
