👀 FUN FRIDAY — Same striking look, two different stories. Actress Mila Kunis's heterochromia was ACQUIRED: years of chronic iritis left her partially blind in one eye, and the color difference stayed after her 2010 surgery. Baseball pitcher Max Scherzer's is CONGENITAL: he was born with one blue eye and one brown eye — purely cosmetic, never affected his vision.

Most heterochromia is congenital and harmless. But a new or changing eye color in adulthood deserves an eye exam — it can occasionally signal an underlying condition.

We're taking a break from our regularly scheduled eye care content to bring you... an eye care challenge. 👀

This is a stereogram — also known as a Magic Eye image. Hidden inside this pattern are two words. Can you see them?

How to view it:
Hold your screen about arm's length away. Relax your eyes as if you're looking through the image — not at it. Let your focus go soft. Slowly move the screen closer. The hidden image should float to the surface.

Some people see it in seconds. Some people stare for five minutes. Some people give up and scroll — don't be that person. 😄

Drop what you see in the comments. And if you can't see it at all — that's actually useful information. Difficulty with stereograms can sometimes indicate a problem with binocular vision or depth perception, which is something we check during a comprehensive eye exam.
