Simple safeguards like secure locks, ID tools, trusted neighbors, safety skills, and a clear emergency plan can help protect children and adults with autism at home and in the community.

If your child comes in for a well check-up and you also share a new concern (an ear that's been hurting, a rash, a medication issue, etc.), we are happy to address it, but doing so may add an acute visit to the appointment. Insurance is then billed for two separate services on the same day, which often results in a copay or deductible charge. *This is an insurance billing rule, not a Pediatric Associates of Abilene policy.* We would rather care for your child today than make you come back. Thank you for your understanding!

👶💙 Newborn Tip of the Week 💙👶

Tummy time starts earlier than you think!

Even newborns benefit from a few minutes of supervised tummy time each day. It helps:
🌟 Strengthen neck and shoulder muscles
🌟 Prevent flat spots on the back of the head
🌟 Build the foundation for rolling, crawling, and other developmental milestones

✨ Start with just 2–3 minutes at a time, a few times a day, and gradually increase as your baby gets stronger.

💕 Pro tip: Tummy time doesn’t have to be on the floor! Laying your baby on your chest while you’re reclined is a
wonderful way to bond while helping build those little muscles.

Remember: Tummy time is for awake and supervised babies only. When it’s time to sleep, always place your baby on their back.
