A week away with family and a reminder of why I built ember the way I did.
The older I get, the more I realize that rest isn’t something we earn. It’s something we’re meant to honor.
This week was a gift.
Time with my husband. Time with my kids. Unhurried conversations. Laughter. Sunsets. Perspective.
Somewhere along the way, we were sold the story that busyness equals worth — that slowing down means falling behind. I don’t think we were made for that.
One of the things I love most about my faith is the reminder that there is a rhythm to life. Work and rest. Striving and stillness. Both have a purpose.
Some of the most important things in life can’t be measured by a calendar or a to-do list. They’re measured in moments.
I’m coming home grateful — for the memories, for the people God has entrusted to me, and for the reminder that what matters most is rarely urgent, but always important.
In many ways, it’s also the philosophy behind the medicine I practice.
The things that protect your health years from now — the patterns, the early signals, the root causes — rarely feel urgent in the moment. But they’re often the things that matter most.
That’s what ember is built around.
Ready for what’s next. 🤍
