One of the hardest parts of caregiving is when you can see that something has changed, but your parent insists everything is fine.
That does not always mean they are trying to be difficult.
Sometimes it means they do not fully recognize the changes.
Sometimes it means they are afraid of losing independence.
Sometimes it is simply hard to admit that daily life feels harder than it used to.
That is why it helps to look beyond what is being said and pay attention to what is happening. Changes in routines, medication management, meals, mobility, and the condition of the home can all tell an important story.
