🌿 Movement Monday 🌿
One Method. Many Pieces of Equipment. One Strong Foundation.
One of the beautiful things about Pilates is that the method stays the same—even when the equipment changes.
Whether we are moving on the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, or other Pilates apparatus, the fundamental principles of Pilates are always at the heart of our practice.
✨ Core connection
✨ Breath
✨ Concentration
✨ Control
✨ Precision
✨ Flow
✨ Whole-body movement
Our Matwork is the foundation for everything we do. The exercises we learn on the mat teach us how to connect to our center, stabilize our bodies, organize our movement, and understand the principles of the Pilates method.
Then, we take those same concepts and explore them in different ways using the equipment.
The equipment doesn't change the method—it challenges, supports, and deepens our understanding of it.
That's why you may recognize familiar movements and principles whether you're lying on the mat, working on the Reformer, using the Cadillac, or incorporating props and other apparatus. Each piece of equipment gives us a different way to experience the same foundational work.
Pilates isn't just about the equipment. It's about learning how to move your body with intention, control, and awareness. ❤️
At Pilates in Chapel Hill, our goal is to help you build that foundation and carry it with you into every movement, every class, and everyday life.
Movement Monday reminder: Master the fundamentals, and the possibilities are endless.✨
