Meet Keri💚

For Keri, physical therapy has always been about something bigger than exercise programs or injury recovery.

She believes that movement is a gift.

One of the most common myths she helps patients overcome is the belief that pain automatically means they have to stop doing the activities they love forever. Her approach is centered around finding a path forward, helping patients return to what brings them purpose, joy, and confidence.

One patient she worked with worried a knee injury meant the end of her running journey. After months of hard work, she arrived at the clinic one day sweaty, smiling, and fresh off her first run back. Moments like that remind Keri why she loves what she does.

Keri also brings a unique perspective to patient care through her own experiences as an athlete and living with ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic autoimmune condition. She understands firsthand that recovery isn't just physical—it's emotional too.

☀️ Is the heat making you feel dizzy when you stand up? You might just need more water! 💧

As temperatures rise, it's easy to fall behind on your fluid intake. But dehydration does more than just make you thirsty — it can actually mess with your blood pressure.

Ever stand up quickly from the couch or a pool chair and feel lightheaded or see spots? That’s a mini head-rush called orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when changing positions).

Here is exactly why that happens when you're dehydrated:

Sweat = Less Volume: When you sweat, your body loses fluid, which actually decreases your overall blood volume.

Low Volume = Low Pressure: Less blood volume means less pressure pushing through your blood vessels.

The Gravity Effect: When you stand up suddenly, gravity naturally pulls blood down into your legs. If your blood volume is already low from dehydration, your body struggles to pump enough blood back up to your brain fast enough.

The Result: Dizziness, lightheadedness, or even fainting. 😵‍💫

The Fix? Hydrate! 🧊
Your body needs enough fluids to maintain its blood volume so your circulation can fight gravity. Don’t wait until you're thirsty — keep a water bottle handy and sip consistently throughout the day.

🌿 Outside the Clinic: Meet Kathleen 🌿

When Kathleen isn’t in the clinic, she’s usually exploring somewhere new, cooking something delicious, spending time with family and friends—or singing along to her favorite songs 🎶

She believes growth doesn’t stop with age and that trying new things keeps life exciting.

Her advice:
✨ “Never be afraid to try something new; learning continues to happen at any age.”

That spirit of curiosity, connection, and encouragement is something she brings into every patient interaction too 💚

✨ Meet Kathleen✨

Kathleen’s passion is helping people reconnect with what their bodies can do.

As one of our Physical Therapists, she has a special interest in working with older adults and patients with neurologic conditions—including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, MS, and balance concerns. Whether the goal is getting in and out of a chair more confidently or returning to activities they love, Kathleen believes every milestone matters.

Her path to PT started young. At just 13 years old, she discovered physical therapy through the profession’s mission—and later saw its impact firsthand while supporting family members through recovery after surgery.

One thing Kathleen reminds her patients often:

💚 Recovery is not linear—and it doesn’t have to be painful.

She believes every recovery journey should be individualized because every person’s story, goals, and body are different. Her favorite part of the job? Celebrating the little wins and helping patients keep moving forward.
