Maybe some things you thought to be personality trait are actually part of your ADHD.
Instead of looking distracted, hyperactive, or impulsive, ADHD sometimes it looks like:

Reacting very strongly to a minor disappointment
Getting disproportionately annoyed by little things
Feeling distraught by criticism or rejection
Getting overstimulated when there’s “too much” happening
Having emotional ups and downs that even you don't understand
Feeling like an outsider—even when you’re part of the group
Sharing way more than you meant to and immediately regretting it
Constantly feeling like you're running behind and can't keep up

These symptoms are not typically associated with ADHD, and can be easily misunderstood.
You may begin to believe-
"I'm too sensitive."
"I'm too emotional."
"Why can't I handle things better?"
"Everyone else seems to be keeping up. Why can't I?"

But ADHD is about more than attention.
Emotional regulation, overwhelm, impulsivity, and executive-function challenges can all shape how ADHD feels in everyday life.
Sometimes understanding the pattern is the first step toward changing your story.
