Thrive Acupuncture

Thrive Acupuncture Thrive Acupuncture is a full service holistic healthcare clinic specializing in chronic pain, women? Janna Siegel, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M.

Thrive Acupuncture is the manifestation of an exploration of the benefits of feeling good. Be it physical or emotional, our happiness is compromised when we experience pain or discomfort. From your first consultation, we will work together to identify the areas of your health you seek to change and the origin of these imbalances. Drawing from Chinese medicine and other Eastern holistic medicinal t

herapies, including acupuncture, herbal formulas, nutritional counseling, bodywork, and yoga, we will address these concerns, restoring the body to it’s optimal state of wellness and working to maintain this equilibrium long after your treatments are complete. At Thrive Acupuncture, the emphasis is on the individual, with focus on creating lasting change from the inside out. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all health care, nor do I believe that physical health is separate from mental health. I do believe that real change requires adaptability and commitment, and addressing problems at the root will heed the best results. As the body transforms, so do the healing techniques I apply. My goal as a practitioner is to give you the most comprehensive care possible, working within the realistic parameters of your lifestyle and my abilities. If your curiosity is piqued, take the first step and schedule your appointment today. I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New York, a certified diplomate with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and hold a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. My training includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, tuina (therapeutic body work), Eastern nutrition, and various other complimentary healing modalities. I have undergone two separate certifications for sexual assault and violence intervention counseling. I am also a 500-hour certified, registered yoga teacher. Using traditional Chinese medicine as the foundation, I draw from my multi-disciplinary background to address the specific needs of each patient and provide a holistic and comprehensive treatment plan focusing on long-term health goals.

Heart 5 (HT-5) - The Flowering of Our Inner Nature; Penetrating the Interior
HT-5 is an access point to the energies of love and joy, our deepest inner warmth and light, that when unobstructed can fill our minds, bodies and spirts with the vitality and vision to share our unique and pure love, gifts and radiance with all that we encounter.
Clinically, this point is used to treat:
🀍 emotional dysregulation
🀍 mood swings
🀍 anxiety
🀍 speech disorders
🀍 headaches
🀍 dizziness
🀍 visual disturbance
As we approach summer and the season of the heart, it is important to nurture our spirit so we can connect with the abundant joy available in the months to come.

Just as each passing year has its seasons, so do our lives. There are changes that come with age. There are circumstances that arise that require a shift in behavior and perspective. Sometimes everything clicks and joy is abundant. Sometimes we are fighting just to get by. Through it all, the highs, the lows and the plateaus, we are here for you. To meet you where you are. To honor what you need in this season.

This one shows up a lot. From an injury. From an accident. From sleeping weird. From stress. From too much time on our phones or in front of our computers. From carrying all the bags. From carrying squirmy children. From where we hold our tension. From how we engage (or don't) our muscles when we're not paying attention. From bad postural habits. And on and on.
This is probably the thing I see the most in clinic. So common that even those coming in for something else often mention it incidentally.
But whatever the pain level, or the the cause, we've got you!

It's true. Things don't always go the way we envision. There can be complications. There can be setbacks. There can be stirring of emotions we did not expect. We can have peaks and valleys. We can plateau.
Healing isn't always pretty or tidy or linear. But we will hold your hand every step of the way. Move at the pace your body demands. Adapt, pivot, cry with you, laugh with you and work as your partner as we move together toward your goals.

This goes beyond semantics. The misleading name - polycystic ovarian syndrome - did not reflect the multi-system condition leaving many of the 1 in 8 women affected undiagnosed and untreated.
The new name, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, acknowledges the myriad of systems/symptoms including:
πŸ”Έ hormones: elevated androgens affecting everything
πŸ”Έ metabolism: insulin, blood sugar, fatigue, weight gain
πŸ”Έ skin/hair: acne, hair loss, excess facial/body hair
πŸ”Έ mental health: anxiety, depression
πŸ”Έ reproduction: irregular or absent periods, fertility struggles
πŸ”Έ heart health: higher long-term cardiovascular risk
Broader understanding leads to more comprehensive evaluation & faster diagnostics, ultimately resulting in better and more timely treatment. A big win for those who have been fighting for this change - a bigger win for those affected.
