At Home Health of West Virginia, our focus is not only on assisting the patient but also supporting family members who often serve as primary caregivers.

Our home health professionals understand that many family members are taking on the physical and emotional demands of caring for their loved ones while trying to juggle their personal needs, jobs, housekeeping and kids’ schoolwork and extra-curricular activities.

We are here to provide guidance, education and coordinate with social services, as needed, alleviating the stress and workload of family caregivers.

For more information about how we care for the whole family, please call us at 304-400-4020.

One of the advantages of receiving home health is the amount of comfort and independence the patient has being at home, rather than in the hospital or a skilled nursing facility.

Patients and their families can welcome visitors more easily while scheduling home health visits as they need, based on their own schedule. They can eat, bathe and sleep on their own schedule and create a sense of normalcy that works best for them.

Additionally, patients tend to recover with home health much faster with the best chance for full recovery if allowed to stay in their homes when possible.

Home Health of West Virginia is proud to call Charleston’s West Side home and we look forward to being part of this year’s Westside Community Health Fair on Saturday, September 12th at the Family Care Health Center around the corner at Patrick Street Plaza.

A variety of local and state healthcare and social service providers will be on hand to provide health screenings, vaccinations and wellness information to visitors, along with plenty of other activities, vendors, music, food and fun for the whole family.

“Now more than ever, people need assistance and don’t know where to turn for help,” said event organizer Dr. Robert L. Haley III, pastor at A More Excellent Way Life Center Church and CEO of Bright Futures Now Inc. “This event brings everyone together to help people find the services they need and give them the tools to improve their lives.”

For more information on being a sponsor or vendor, call Elder Denise White at 304-400-4111 or email [email protected].

The one-on-one nature of home health care significantly reduces the risk of adverse events that can occur in busy institutional settings. Our dedicated caregivers can quickly identify changes in patient condition, provide immediate response to medical concerns, and maintain detailed documentation of patient status.

Skilled care providers monitor patients continuously for signs of infection, medication side effects, or complications that might otherwise go unnoticed. This proactive approach often prevents minor issues from developing into serious medical emergencies requiring hospital stays.

Home Health of West Virginia is happy to assist you and your loved ones in making your home the safest and best place to provide and receive care.

We are proud to announce that Home Health of West Virginia is now an in-network provider for Aetna Medicare members!

Aetna Medicare covers a variety of skilled medical services offered to you in your own home. Home health can be a great option if you have difficulty traveling to doctors’ appointments. Plus, home health is often less expensive than a skilled nursing facility stay because you don’t pay costs like room and board. If you have Aetna Medicare coverage, home health care may cost even less.

We are accepting new patients! To begin receiving home health services, ask your doctor to make a referral or call us at 304-400-4020 to discuss details specific to your benefits.

We treated our amazing staff at Home Health of West Virginia to a wonderful picnic lunch this afternoon in honor of them reaching and surpassing their goal of serving more than 100 patients a day since opening in 2023. In fact, as of today, we proudly serve more than 160 patients each day in Kanawha and Putnam counties!

We are most grateful to have such caring, compassionate and professional nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists, and other team members who work so hard every day to help our patients, their families and caregivers manage chronic illnesses or recover from an injury or surgery in the comfort of their own homes.

Thank you all for your commitment and dedication to providing the best home health care possible every day. We are blessed to have you with us!
