As summer begins.. ☀️💛

We’re feeling especially thankful for the opportunity to continue serving the children and families in our communities - through games, movement, laughter, hard work, and all the little moments in between.

We are so grateful to be part of these children’s journeys and to spend our summers helping them continue building confidence, skills, and independence - all while having fun along the way! ✨🫶🏼

🌟 SLP Spotlight 🌟

This National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, we are celebrating the incredible work of the speech-language pathologists on our Hometown team - starting with Sarah!

Sarah has such a special way of engaging and connecting with the children she works with. She has the biggest heart - and we truly love working alongside her! In fact, we can often hear the laughter of little ones coming from her room while they're working, learning, and playing! 💙

We’re grateful for the joy, patience, and expertise she brings to every session.

Here’s a little more from Sarah in her own words:

💬 Why I became an SLP:
“I wanted to become a speech language pathologist in order to help people. Whether that meant helping them regain cognitive functioning after a stroke, helping a child communicate their wants and needs either verbally or through AAC, helping people learn to swallow safely, and so much more. I wanted to be able to give people the tools they need to improve their quality of life, whatever that looks like.”

💬 What I love about my job:
“I love that every day is different. I love that I get to be a part of the little victories of the families that I work with. Some victories look like a child saying a ‘b’ sound for the first time, being able to swallow pureed baby food for the first time, or saying their own name on their AAC device. These little victories are huge. I love that I get to be a part of it!”

Join us in celebrating Sarah and the meaningful impact she makes every single day! 💙✨

🧡💜May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! 💜🧡

National Speech-Language-Hearing Month honors the professionals who support speech, language, and hearing health and the vital role they play in supporting communication needs. It also emphasizes early identification, timely intervention, and ongoing support for speech, language, and hearing challenges, while promoting inclusion, empathy, and connection for all ages.

This month, we’re proud to celebrate our incredible Speech Language Pathologists and the meaningful work they do every day to support communication, connection, confidence, and growth in the children and families we serve. We’ll be introducing members of our speech therapy team and sharing a glimpse of the skill, care, and heart they bring to their work each day.

⭐️✨OT Spotlight✨⭐️

Meet the co-founder of Hometown Therapy Services - Derek!

Derek brings unmatched energy to every session, giving his very best to the children and families he serves. He plays a tremendous role in supporting our team and the communities we are privileged to serve, while continually advancing our vision and mission.

Here's what Derek had to say:
“Turning Can’t into CAN!” is what we believe at Hometown Therapy and the basis of why we started this company. Changing the way children perceive and understand the world around them is possible! It takes a great deal of effort, empathy, energy, and creativity to facilitate change in longstanding inefficient processing patterns, but the greatest joy of working as a pediatric OT is being there when a child accomplishes something they never dreamed they could do. The “aha” moment that occurs when the child realizes that they can do these hard things - and to see the confidence in that child just snowball and carry over into their social interactions, academic performance, and sports - is amazing to be a part of. That's why I love being an OT."

We are incredibly grateful for Derek’s leadership, his heart for this profession and the community, and the lasting impact he makes as an occupational therapist at Hometown Therapy.

🌟✨ Happy OT Month! ✨🌟

💫💛 OT Spotlight 💛💫

Today we’re celebrating Caroline - someone who brings so much fun into every session! 😊
