Caring for Our Communities - Yesterday, our colleagues across HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital, HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital, and HCA Healthcare South Atlantic Division had the privilege of volunteering at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge l Charleston serving meals and connecting with patients and caregivers on their journey.
We’re especially grateful that the HCA Healthcare Foundation selected the Charleston Hope Lodge as one of six recipients of a $40,000 grant—part of a $240,000 commitment supporting Hope Lodges across the country. This investment helps ensure patients traveling for cancer care have access to nutritious meals, safe lodging and a supportive community when they need it most.
For many, cancer treatment means traveling far from home—adding financial and emotional strain to an already challenging time. Hope Lodge helps ease that burden by providing free lodging and spaces where patients and caregivers can find comfort, connection and support.
Through this grant, we’re helping strengthen food security and expand volunteer-led engagement—like preparing and serving meals—because access to nutritious food plays a vital role in healing and recovery.
We’re proud to stand alongside the American Cancer Society and support Hope Lodge guests here in Charleston—providing not just meals, but moments of comfort, encouragement and hope.
Together, through giving and volunteering, we’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Learn how you can join us in supporting the Hope Lodge at https://www.cancer.org/support-programs-and-services/patient-lodging/hope-lodge/charleston.html
