We’re expanding advanced heart and vascular care for the Lowcountry.

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is proud to welcome two specialty surgeons to our cardiovascular team: Ara Ketchedjian, MD, a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon, and Stephen C. Miller II, MD, a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon. Together, they bring complementary expertise that expands the specialized cardiovascular care available to our patients.

Dr. Ketchedjian specializes in adult cardiac surgery, structural heart procedures, TAVR and minimally invasive cardiac surgery. He has performed more than 4,500 cardiac surgical procedures and 1,500 TAVR procedures during his career.

Dr. Miller, a Lowcountry native, specializes in vascular and endovascular surgery, with clinical interests including vascular disease, thrombosis and embolism, and cerebrovascular disorders.

During Physician Assistant Week, HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital joins our broader HCA Healthcare network to recognize the important role physician assistants (PAs) play in caring for patients and supporting care teams.

Across specialties and care settings, PAs bring clinical knowledge, collaboration and compassion to the patient care experience. Whether conducting physical exams, helping guide treatment plans or supporting follow-up care, they work closely with physicians and colleagues to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

As part of HCA Healthcare, PAs collaborate with care teams across a network that supported approximately 47 million patient encounters in 2025 across 190 hospitals and 2,500 outpatient facilities — helping make care possible for patients, families and communities.
