That sharp heel pain with your first steps in the morning isn't something you should ignore.

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain, and while many people hope it will go away on its own, waiting often allows the pain to linger or get worse.

The good news? Most cases can be treated without surgery. With the right diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan, including stretching, supportive footwear, custom orthotics, and other targeted therapies, we can help relieve your pain and reduce the chances of it coming back.

At Ferro Foot & Ankle, you're more than a patient, you're family. We'll work together to find what's best for you and help get you back on your feet.

👣 Looking for another simple stretch to help with heel pain?

Try the lunge stretch.

Start by placing one foot in front of the other. Bend your front knee while keeping your back leg straight and your back heel on the ground. Lean forward until you feel a gentle stretch in your calf. Hold the stretch for at least 15 seconds, then switch sides.

Even if you're only experiencing pain in one foot, it's important to stretch both sides. Maintaining flexibility in both legs can help improve overall foot and ankle function and may reduce strain that contributes to heel pain.

Stretching is often one of the first steps in managing heel pain, but if your symptoms continue or interfere with your daily activities, it may be time for a more thorough evaluation.

Pain on the side of your toenail? Redness, swelling, or tenderness around your toe?

You may be dealing with an ingrown toenail.

Ingrown toenails are one of the most common conditions we treat at Ferro Foot & Ankle. They can develop for several reasons, including cutting your nails too short, rounding the corners when trimming, wearing shoes that are too tight, the natural shape of your toenails, or even an injury to the toe.

While an ingrown toenail may seem like a minor problem, it can become increasingly painful and may even lead to infection if left untreated.

The good news is that treatment is often simple and can provide quick relief.

Don't ignore toe pain. If you're experiencing redness, swelling, or discomfort, let us take a look and help you find relief.

Heel pain with your first steps out of bed in the morning? You're not alone.

• Flat feet or high arches
• Running, dancing, or other high-impact activities
• Increased body weight

The good news is that you don't have to live with the pain. At Ferro Foot & Ankle, Dr. Ferro will take the time to evaluate what's causing your discomfort and work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs.

Let's get you back on your feet.

If you have diabetes, regular foot exams are one of the most important things you can do to protect your health.

During a diabetic foot exam, Dr. Nick carefully checks your skin, nails, circulation, and sensation. These simple evaluations can help identify problems like poor circulation, nerve damage, pressure areas, or small injuries before they become serious.

The reality is that many diabetic foot complications begin without pain because diabetes can reduce feeling in your feet. That's why routine exams are so important. Catching concerns early can help prevent infections, ulcers, and other complications.

If you have diabetes, don't wait until you notice a problem. Preventive care is one of the best ways to keep your feet healthy and keep you moving.

Schedule your diabetic foot exam with Ferro Foot & Ankle today. We'll work together to find what's best for you and help get you back on your feet.
