Through community initiatives, PRN offers free, open access supports and resources for people who experience mental health and substance use challenges.

Promise Resource Network, Inc. was started in 2006 in Charlotte, NC as Mecklenburg’s PROMISE to embrace all people and create opportunities for wellness, healing, and transformation. PRN is a peer-run organization that employs people in recovery to partner with individuals, families, communities and organizations to advance recovery from emotional distress, mental health and substance use challeng

This March, Promise Resource Network opened the doors of our new respite, the Retreat @ The Cabin. 🏡

The Retreat @ The Cabin is a free, peer-run space in Cabarrus County where adults can come to rest, connect, and reset during times of mental stress, crisis, or emotional overwhelm. No pressure, no judgment, no barriers. Just real support from people who have lived it before.

Desmond came to PRN during a difficult time in his life, while staying in a shelter and doing everything he could to keep moving forward. What he found at PRN was more than just resources. It was a sense of community, belonging, and possibility.

Through classes and encouragement, Desmond gained valuable life skills and discovered new opportunities. Desmond followed through, stayed consistent, and worked toward his goal. Today, he’s a licensed cosmetologist, practicing in his field and building a future he once could only imagine.
