Environment can change more than we realize. 🧠🐀
In the audio, discusses classic rat research exploring the relationship between genetics, environment, behavior, and learning.
There’s an important detail, though: the story told here appears to combine findings from several different experiments, including Robert Tryon’s “maze-bright/maze-dull” rats and Cooper & Zubek’s research on enriched vs. restricted environments.
The exact story may not be scientifically accurate in every detail… but the larger question is fascinating:
How much of who we become is shaped by what we’re born with, and how much is shaped by the environment around us?
Sometimes changing the environment changes the outcome. 🌱
