🎓 **Celebrating Toia Johnson’s MSW Graduation!** 🎉

Please join us in congratulating **Toia Johnson, SPARC Family Centered Treatment (FCT) Practitioner and intern, on earning her Master of Social Work (MSW)!** 🌟

Toia worked hard to complete her MSW program while continuing her work with SPARC, demonstrating dedication to both her professional growth and the families she serves. Balancing graduate school, internship, and professional responsibilities is no small accomplishment, and we are proud to celebrate this important milestone with her!

Toia graduated on October 14. She reported that she flew to Arizona to celebrate her accomplishment, where her family surprised her with a special celebratory dinner! ❤️

As she looks ahead, Toia plans to apply for her LCSWA and work at SPARC Services and Programs as an FCT Clinician.

Toia, congratulations on this well-deserved achievement! Your commitment to learning, growing, and supporting families is something to celebrate. We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in this next chapter! 🎉

Fall reminds us that change can be beautiful. 🍂

The leaves turn gold, the air grows crisp, and the river keeps moving, steady and strong, finding its way around every rock in its path.

Growth doesn’t always look like blooming. Sometimes it looks like letting go of what no longer serves us, slowing down, and trusting that a new season is on its way.

At SPARC, we see this every day in the families and individuals we walk alongside. Every season brings its own challenges, and also its own chances to heal, grow, and move forward together.

Take a moment this week to step outside, breathe in the fall air, and notice the change happening around you. 🍁

SPARC Services and Programs was proud to be represented at the 15th Annual Commonwealth of Virginia CSA Conference in Roanoke, VA, where Caylee Gilham and Ashley Burgess presented Breaking Cycles: Family Systems, Trauma, and Sustainable Change.

The presentation explored how trauma can impact family systems across generations and highlighted the importance of looking beyond individual behaviors to understand the relationships, experiences, and broader systems that influence them.

At SPARC, we believe meaningful, lasting change begins with understanding the whole person within the context of their family and environment. Through trauma-informed, family-centered approaches, we work to support individuals and families in breaking cycles and building healthier futures.

We are grateful for opportunities to share knowledge, strengthen connections, and collaborate with other professionals who are committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of the individuals and families they serve.

The SPARC Network was in the mountains this week! 🏔️

Teri, Helen, and Shanda represented SPARC at Benchmarks Destination 2026 in Cherokee, NC, joining providers, advocates, and partners from across the state who share a commitment to strengthening services for children and families.

Events like this remind us why collaboration matters. The best outcomes for families happen when we learn from one another, share what’s working, and keep pushing for systems that support families staying safely together.

Recovery is REAL! 💙

Last Friday, Chantiza, Meah, and Christen represented The SPARC Network at Broughton Hospital’s 6th Annual Recovery Festival in Morganton, NC.

This year’s theme, “Recovery is REAL: Restoring Every Aspect of Life,” captured exactly why we do this work. It was especially meaningful to see the festival return after Broughton’s move to its new building, bringing together patients, staff, and community partners for a full day of education, connection, and hope.

Our team spent the day sharing information about SPARC’s services and connecting with the patients and staff who make recovery possible every day. Events like this build bridges between hospital and community care, and we’re proud to be part of that network of support.

Thank you to Chantiza, Meah, and Christen for showing up with such heart, and to the Broughton Hospital Recovery Festival Committee for inviting us to be part of this celebration. We can’t wait for next year! 🌅

We’re at the 15th Annual Virginia CSA Conference! 🎤

We’re proud to share that two members of the SPARC team will be presenting:

Breaking Cycles: Family Systems, Trauma, and Sustainable Change

🔹 Caylee Gilham, MA, LCMHCS, LMHC, LPCC, LPC, Clinical Director, SPARC Services and Programs
🔹 Ashley Burgess, QMHP, Family Centered Treatment Specialist and Supervisor, SPARC Services and Programs

Lasting change doesn’t happen to one person in isolation. It happens when whole families heal together. Caylee and Ashley will explore how trauma moves through family systems and how a family-centered approach can interrupt those patterns and build change that lasts long after services end.

If you’re attending, we’d love for you to join their session and connect with our team!

🚋💚 ALL ABOARD! SPARC Central AR Team 2 Skills Lab took a little field trip this week! 🚋

This week, SPARC’s Central AR Team 2 joined together in North Little Rock and Little Rock for a little adventure, some friendly competition, and a whole lot of laughter!

We hopped aboard the FREE Rock Region METRO Streetcar for a ride through the historic Argenta District and downtown Little Rock, learning about local history and discovering some of the wonderful things our communities have to offer!

Of course, we couldn’t just take a trolley ride! 😂 We turned it into an FCT Alphabet Scavenger Hunt, complete with Wild Cards, teamwork, and a few unexpected challenges along the way!

We laughed, connected with visitors from out of town, shared a little about SPARC and Family Centered Treatment (FCT), and most importantly, enjoyed simply being together as a team.

💚 Sometimes the best opportunities for connection don’t cost a thing!

Today was a great reminder that positive experiences don’t have to be expensive or elaborate. A little creativity, a willingness to participate, and an opportunity to enjoy each other can go a long way. It’s something we hope to continue bringing into our work with families!

A big thank you to Rock Region METRO for providing such a fun, accessible way to explore our community!

Good company. Great memories. And a little FCT along the way! 🚋💚
