We officially concluded our Seniors Helping Senior- Clear the Shelters 2026 campaign. To say it was a success it is an understatement. Yesterday, we delivered our donations from Waltonwood Providence to the Humane Society of Charlotte. We collected :
• Cat Food Cans: 49 cans
• Dog Food Cans: 20 cans
• Dry Cat Food: 45 lbs
• Dry Dog Food: 76 lbs
• Dog/Cat Treats: 129 items
• Jars of Peanut Butter: 3
• Pet Beds: 5
• Food Bowl: 1
• Cat Scratcher: 1
• Pet Clothes/Bandanas: 2
• Dog/Cat Toys: 48
• Rolls of P**p Bags: 58
• Cat Litter: 5 lbs
• Pet Shampoo/Wash: 2
• Blankets: 21
• Towels: 44

All these donations are going back into Mecklenburg County residents so they can keep their pets at home and have the supplies to do so.

We also paid for the forever homes of 5 senior pet adoptions in the community.

It is the Last Week For Donations for our Seniors Helping Seniors- Clear the Shelters Campaign. Our Donation site is overflowing but, don't worry there is still plenty of room to help Humane Society of Charlotte. Please donate in our lobby at 11945 Providence Road, Charlotte, 28277. Thank you to all that have donated.

We also have not picked a winner for our Martha Stewart basket- so there is still time to donate and get a raffle entry for your donation!

Martha and Stewart have found their forever home but, remember Waltonwood will pay for the adoption of any senior pet to find their home.

Again, A heartfelt thank you to all that have donated and continue to do so this week and in the future!

Martha came from an overcrowded situation where she was socialized with other animals but not people or the outside world. She can be timid upon first meeting and will need to gradually learn all the basic necessary skills to thrive in a home such as walking on leash, interacting with new people, and potty training. Our adoptions counselors will be happy to provide tips and tricks to make this a successful match!

All adoptions are handled on a first-come, first-served basis at our Adoption Center, located at 1348 Parker Drive. No appointment is needed to meet your future furry friend! Hours: Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
