Trying to keep things cool in the kitchen during this summer heat?

When temperatures peak, the last thing anyone wants is to turn on the oven. The good news? Summer is the season for fresh food and easy dishes.

🥗 Lean into no-cook meals
Think salads that go beyond lettuce like grain bowls or fresh coleslaw. Add protein like pre-cooked chicken, chickpeas or tuna for something more filling.

🍉 Water-rich fruits are your MVP
Watermelon, berries, peaches and cucumbers are in season and help you stay hydrated. Keep them pre-cut in the fridge for easy snacking or toss them into salads for a sweet twist.

🥪 Upgrade your sandwiches and wraps
Swap out hot meals for wraps, pita pockets or open-face sandwiches. Layer in crisp veggies, hummus, avocado or cold cuts for something quick that doesn’t require heat.

🧺 Make it snack plate
Who doesn’t love charcuterie? A board full of fresh fruit, cheeses, nuts, crackers, olives and dips. It’s low effort, customizable and perfect when it’s too hot to cook.

Dr. Bhowmick and Dr. Dunville are stepping up to the plate with two more Saturday clinics to help get your kids ready for the end of summer and the busy back-to-school season.

We're grateful for the opportunity to care for our families in a way that makes life a little easier, and we can't wait to see you on a Saturday!

Summer is here, and so is the Carolina heat! ☀️💧

A big thank you to QC Life for the opportunity to have Dr. Bhowmick share tips on keeping kids safe and hydrated during these hot summer days.

Here are a few simple reminders to help your family stay safe this summer:
💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning, especially during the hottest hours.
🚨 Know the signs of heat illness, including dizziness, headache, nausea, excessive fatigue, or confusion.

While you're making summer plans, don't forget to schedule your child's annual checkup before the back to school rush. We also have a few Saturday morning clinic appointments still available, but they're filling up fast!
