What if the earliest clues of eczema are showing up before we ever see the rash?

A new 2026 study found differences in the skin microbiome of some babies at just 2–3 months old that were associated with eczema plus food sensitization or food allergy later in infancy.

This does NOT mean bacteria “cause” eczema or that we can predict which babies will develop it. But it does add to something I say all the time:
The rash is what we see. There is so much more happening beneath the surface.

The more we learn about these early changes, the better we can understand eczema before we’re simply chasing the next flare.

The baby aisle can be SO overwhelming, so let’s make it easier. 👶

Walmart Baby Aisle: PICK IT 🟢 or SKIP IT 🔴

When I’m shopping for little ones, I’m looking for simple ingredient lists, fragrance-free options, and products that are gentle on developing skin. And when it comes to things like teething relief, I always want parents to know what they’re actually reaching for and when medication is truly needed.

You don’t need a “perfect” home or the most expensive products. Just learn to read the labels and make better swaps where you can. 💙

What baby product should I check next?

Parents, please do not put undiluted bleach on your child’s eczema.

A properly diluted bleach bath is different, but it is not a DIY treatment. Evidence is mixed, and it should only be used when your child’s dermatologist specifically recommends it.

For gentler everyday skin support, I often reach for hypochlorous acid, a substance our immune system naturally produces.

is one of my favorites for supporting minor rashes and irritated skin without the sting.

Every child’s eczema plan should be individualized. Always follow the product label and talk with your child’s healthcare provider before changing treatments.

Save this for your eczema toolkit.

Lab-grown meat is here, and I have questions.

We still don’t have the long-term data I’d want to see, especially when it comes to growing children and repeated consumption.

For my family, I’ll stick with responsibly raised, real meat.

I don’t need food technology to reinvent my food. I just want better food.

Would you eat lab-grown meat? What are your thoughts on this?

Your Doritos aren’t just corn, oil, and seasoning. 👀

This is exactly why I talk so much about ultra-processed foods. Some concerning compounds aren’t even listed on the ingredient label because they can form during high-temperature processing.

In this case, the concern is glycidyl esters, which can form when certain refined oils are processed at high temperatures. In the body, they can release glycidol, a compound recognized as genotoxic and carcinogenic.
This isn’t about fearing every chip your child eats. It’s about understanding how processing matters and making informed choices when we can. 💚

Follow for more ingredient deep dives.

This is bigger than what’s in your child’s snack.

Artificial food dyes can add up FAST. They’re hiding in everything from breakfast foods and muffins to the sports drinks we hand our kids after practice.

And here’s the part that gets me: companies already make different versions of many foods for different markets. We can ask for better here, too.

West Virginia has already passed legislation restricting several artificial dyes, including removing them from school nutrition programs, with broader restrictions taking effect in 2028.

And in North Carolina, HB 440 proposes prohibiting Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3 and several other additives.

Parents, our voices matter. Contact your state legislators. Ask questions. Tell them what changes you want to see. Change doesn’t just happen in the grocery aisle, it can happen when families speak up, too.

Save this, share it with another parent, and let’s keep this conversation going. 🌈

There is SO much noise on social media about toxins, microplastics, glyphosate, heavy metals… it can feel impossible to know where to start.

Here’s what I tell families: don’t panic. Focus on what you can control.

🌱 I choose organic whenever possible to help reduce pesticide exposure.
🍓 I aim for 13+ plant points a day, especially vitamin C and sulfur-rich foods that support our natural detox pathways.
🍽️ I rotate foods instead of eating the same things every single day.
🍬 I keep added sugar low.
💧 And I filter my water and make water my go-to drink.

We can’t eliminate every exposure, and we don’t need to live in fear of them. I’d much rather focus on creating a lower-tox environment while giving the body what it needs to do its job.

Keep it simple. Your body already knows how to detox. Our job is to support it.

Marriage is all about sharing… until there’s only ONE iRestore helmet and the Lions game is on. 😂

So naturally, John and I settled it the mature way: rock, paper, scissors.

Unfortunately for me… John won. And he made sure to celebrate accordingly. 🙄

We’ve both made iRestore part of our hair growth routine, but apparently we may need a second helmet to keep the peace in this house.

Who would win the iRestore battle in your house?
