Today, we said goodbye to a very special member of the Carolina Sports Clinic family. 💙

Dr. Caroline’s beloved dog, Cal, was a fixture at our SouthPark clinic for many years—greeting patients at the door, keeping watch over the office, and bringing comfort and joy to so many people who walked through our doors.

Whether you met him once or saw him every week, Cal had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He was more than an office dog—he was part of the heart of CSC.

We’re holding Dr. Caroline close today and remembering sweet Cal for all the happiness he brought to our team and community over the years. He will be deeply missed. 🐾

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

In observance of Memorial Day, Carolina Sports Clinic will be closed today. We will reopen tomorrow during normal business hours.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day 🇺🇸.

Muscle strength is one of the biggest predictors of how well we age. 💪

Not aesthetics. Not muscle size. Strength.

Research continues to show that maintaining muscle health plays a major role in:
→ mobility
→ independence
→ metabolic health
→ injury prevention
→ fall risk
→ long-term resilience

And now, the American College of Sports Medicine has updated its resistance training guidelines for the first time since 2009, reviewing more than 30,000 studies and 130 systematic reviews.

The message is simple: you don’t need complicated workouts to build strength and support healthy aging. Consistent resistance training — even simple home-based exercises — can improve muscle strength, power, mitochondrial function, and overall quality of life.

There’s also growing research around mitochondrial health and recovery. Compounds like Urolithin A are showing promise in supporting mitophagy, the body’s natural cellular recycling process that helps keep mitochondria functioning efficiently as we age.

Strong muscles. Healthy cells. Better longevity. Life is Movement.

Still resting that injury… and wondering why it isn’t getting better?

Here’s the truth: rest has a role—but it’s not the whole plan.

Too much of it can actually slow your recovery, decrease strength, and set you up for reinjury.

The research is clear 👇

Early, guided rehab > prolonged rest.

The goal isn’t just to “feel better”—it’s to rebuild capacity so your body can handle the demands of your sport again.

That’s where we come in. At Carolina Sports Clinic, we don’t just treat pain—we build you back stronger so it stays gone.

If you’ve been stuck in the rest cycle, it’s time to shift your approach.

DM us “REHAB” or book an eval to get started.

✨ATHLETE RECOVERY!✨

Recovering from a knee sprain takes time, but the right treatments can help support the body’s healing process.

This spring, player .mundy_, one of our elite high school athletes, came in for treatment following a recent knee sprain. Dr. combined dry needling and red light therapy to help promote recovery. Dry needling helps reduce muscle tension and improve local blood flow, while red and near-infrared light therapy stimulates cellular activity and supports tissue repair by improving mitochondrial function and circulation.

Together these therapies helped reduce inflammation, promoted healing, and shortened her recovery time, and ultimately got Christian back to doing what she loves much sooner. 🏀

Dr. Caroline spent Friday afternoon at Meyers Park Country club for the tennis match event! This non profit is held very close to our hearts as it hits home to some of our very own patients. Baby Bundles provides a bag full of necessities – baby outfits, blankets and the like – to mothers in need as they leave the hospital with their newborn. The contents of each bag are worth about $350, helping families begin parenthood on the right foot. Since starting in 2010, Baby Bundles has delivered bags to families in and around Charlotte through our community partners. If you have questions, would like to donate or volunteer please go to their IG page for more information!

At CSC we are centered around bringing the community closer together and supporting each other! Thank you to all of the pop up shops, volunteers and Meyers Park Country club for hosting the event! See you next year!
