Introducing our beautiful 2026 Queen, McKenzie Ho! 👑✨

She would love to share a couple words on why YOU should join MVC!

“Joining MVC was unexpectedly one of the best decisions I ever made. I was really worried about opening up to new people due to past experiences, but immediately felt at home when I met everyone because they were so supportive and genuine. They really helped me come out of my shell and I’m forever grateful to them for that. Now I get a platform where I’m able to share my experiences and passions with people who want to make a difference.

I not only had the opportunity to represent my community and culture, but through the pageant I was able to meet so many wonderful people who have such a huge impact on the person I’ve become. My entire community got together to help me prepare for the pageant, and it’s because of their support and dedication that I was able to win. I got a lot closer to my family and learned a lot more about my family’s history, something I would have never done if it wasn’t for the pageant. My friends all helped me practice and encouraged me when I was feeling anxious. Everyone was so supportive and I was so touched at the amount of support and encouragement I received while participating.

I highly encourage you to join this pageant if you’re even slightly curious about it. I had such a wonderful experience and it helped me grow so much as a person. You’ll get to see how strong our community is and meet a lot of amazing people. Above all else, it’s such a good opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. I look forward to seeing you this upcoming year!!“

“Joining the Miss/Mister Vietnam of the Carolinas pageant was definitely a step out of my comfort zone and an unexpected but rewarding decision. One of the core values of this pageant was confidence, and that was something I have struggled with. Participating in the pageant and being introduced to an uplifting and encouraging community has helped nurture my confidence and push me to become a better version of myself. The more you diversify your experiences, the more opportunities you create for growth and self-discovery.”

Fun Facts about McKenzie:

1. Mackenzie grew up doing traditional Vietnamese dances, and am classically trained in ballet, jazz funk and contemporary, but her favorite is dancing with nón lá and fans.

2.After serving as the Vice President in NC State VSA, she joined the Board of Directors at the Vietnamese American Association of Raleigh at the youth ambassador, where she is the liaison between VAAR and the VSAs in the area (Duke, UNC, and NCSU) and am in charge of VAAR Teens, a youth group that aims to volunteer with the local community and serve the younger generation of Vietnamese Americans looking to get involved.

3. Mackenzie created a clothing line combining traditional asian features to design accessible clothing for people with ALS and other difficulties with mobility.

4. She been working at an Starbucks barista for over 4 years. As an avid coffee and tea drinker, her favorite coffee drink is a Cafe muối

5.In her free time, she enjoy shopping and hosting get togethers with friends

Fun Facts about Kristine:

1. Cooking is her love language—she’s known for occasionally hosting cozy dinner parties and running a home café for her friends.

2. She can’t ride a bike (yet!) but learning this year is officially on her bucket list.

3. She’s surprisingly lucky at winning giveaways - having won four instagram giveaways, including two tickets to see Eric Nam sing.

4. She is happiest when hanging out with her two dogs, Lulu and Milo, and creating art.

5. She joined a running competition once on a whim that consisted of running 5 miles and eating a dozen donuts.
