Fireworks may be exciting, but they cause thousands of injuries each year—many involving children. Even sparklers can burn hot enough to cause serious injury. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is by attending public displays handled by professionals and keeping a safe distance.
If fireworks are being used nearby:
✅ Never let children handle fireworks (including sparklers)
✅ Keep water or a hose close in case of fire
✅ Follow all safety labels and light fireworks outdoors only
✅ Never relight a dud or stand over a firework
Protect your family and make safety part of every celebration. 🇺🇸✨

It's best to let the professionals handle the firework displays. If you plan to celebrate the holiday with your own fireworks, these precautions can help prevent injuries.

🌞 Sun Protection Matters—Even in Spring! 🌞
Don’t skip sunscreen just because the weather feels mild. The sun’s rays can still be harmful this time of year. Be sure to use a sunscreen with at least SPF 15 and reapply every two hours, especially during outdoor play.
👶 For infants under 6 months:

Aim for minimal sun exposure
Keep them in the shade
Dress them in lightweight clothing and wide-brim hats

The CDC is warning that additional measles cases are expected, especially with increased travel and large gatherings this spring and summer. Measles is highly contagious—but it’s also preventable. Ensuring you and your children are up to date on the MMR vaccine is one of the most effective ways to stay protected.
✔️ Check vaccination status
✔️ Talk to your healthcare provider before travel
✔️ Know the symptoms and act early
Protect your family and your community.

With a busy travel season approaching, the CDC sent out an alert warning that additional measles cases in the U.S. could be expected in the next few months.
