This peaceful pup is Archie, a 7 year old Shepherd mix. Archie has a long history of intermittent, shifting foreleg lameness. He’s been evaluated by orthopedic surgeon in past and found to have no boney abnormalities to explain this lameness. He’s been treated for tendon/ligament issues since and responded best to acupuncture and herbal remedies. We’ve been brought in to continue therapy and hopefully keep Archie symptom free

These two kitty kitties are Rocky and Stone, 9 year old dsh and litter mates. Mom adopted both together at 7 months of age. At that point they both already had severe allergic dermatitis requiring round the clock use of e collars. Both kitties have been worked up completely by multiple specialists for the itching but nothing really works to alleviate their symptoms. In later life Rocky has developed both arthritis and asthma while Stone unfortunately developed basal call tumors. Though these cases are complicated, both kitties were very tolerant of treatment and exceptionally affectionate. We’re going to see if an integrative approach to their maladies improves their quality of life

This toothy grinner is Nash, a 9 year old former racing greyhound. Nash had been suffering from intermittent jolts of discomfort that would interfere with any attempts at rest and relaxation. Exam revealed back pain, possibly from previous injuries at the track. We e been treating for several weeks a with acupuncture, laser and Chinese herbs and his family already is reporting a dramatic decrease in the frequency and intensity of his jolts!

He’s been treated for years with western medications but recently his mobility has gone downhill despite these same medications. Say hello to Ellis, an 11 1/2 year old German Shepherd. Ellis has a complicated medical history including digestive issues, hip arthritis and IVDD. Recently he has been recovering from severe cellulitis in his right back leg as well as an idiopathic vestibular event. All this has resulted in trouble with his mobility. He is under the care of several specialists. His mom wanted to add in acupuncture, food therapy and possibly Chinese herbal remedies to target treat the root problems and help poor Ellis heal

This soulful someone is Abby, a 13 year old cattle dog/husky mix. Poor Abby has sore hips and arthritis in both elbows. She’s still playful but needs assistance to get in/out of car. Abby’s dad wanted to try acupuncture and other rehab modalities to see if she could gain some more comfort in her senior years.

These two house hippos (and housemates) are Lulu and Nala. Lulu (12 1/2)struggles from arthritis in both her knees and her hips (she tore both able years ago). Nala (13 1/2) suffers from knee arthritis as well as back pain and renal insufficiency. Both pups are taking a variety of western medications to manage their ailments. Their mom wanted to see if acupuncture, Chinese herbs and other integrative treatments might help with comfort and quality of life

The sweet smile belongs to Ripples, a 13 year old Plott hound/Pit mix. Poor Ripples tore his acls many moons ago. Unfortunately the surgery used to stabilize them failed resulting in long term instability and severe arthritis in both knees. He struggles to walk in a crouched position but remains very lively and happy. Surgery is not an option at this point given his age and the severity of the joint degeneration. Hoping we can try some multimodal therapies to give Ripples some much needed relief

The sweet smile belongs to Ripples, a 13 year old Plott hound/Pit mix. Poor Ripples tore his acls many moons ago. Say hello to Simon, a 12 year old Giant Schnauzer. Simon has been struggling with back end weakness for past year or so. Exam revealed painful back. We’ve initiated treatment with acupuncture, Chinese herbs and laser treatment. Owner has added in PEMF therapy and massage as well as strength building exercises at home. Let’s hope these therapies allow Simon many more trail walks with his mom in future
