Not sure who to call for your eye care? You're not alone. Optometrists, ophthalmologists, and opticians all play different roles, and knowing the difference can help you get the right care faster.

Our blog breaks down what each one is trained to do and when you should see each. Read more: https://www.horizoneye.com/blog/the-difference-between-an-optometrist-ophthalmologist-and-eye-surgeon

If you've ever fallen behind on your glaucoma eye drops, you're not alone. It's estimated that about half of glaucoma patients stop using their drops within six months, and because glaucoma has no symptoms until vision is already affected, missed doses can go unnoticed until real damage is done.

Dr. Randall Stein now offers an alternative: iDose TR, a tiny implant placed during a brief outpatient procedure that continuously releases pressure lowering medication for years. No daily drops to remember.

Dr. Stein says: "its sustained, drop-free approach represents a potential paradigm shift in treatment, and I've seen how simplifying therapy can positively impact patients' treatment experience and help preserve vision long term."

Today is World Sight Day, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate something we get to think about every day: your eyes.

Think about everything your vision lets you do without a second thought. Reading a bedtime story to your kids. Catching a sunset on the drive home. Recognizing a friend's face across a crowded room. It's easy to take all of that for granted until something changes.

Today, we're celebrating sight itself, and gently reminding you to take care of yours. Learn more about World Sight Day: https://www.iapb.world/world_sight_day

This past Saturday, our Horizon Eye Care team joined Lions Services for the 4th Annual Braille Trail Walk for Independence, the first walk ever held on Charlotte's new Braille Trail.

We spend our days helping patients protect their vision, and we were proud to walk alongside an organization building a community that works for everyone, no matter how well they see. Every step and every dollar raised supports Lions Services' work with our blind and low vision neighbors.

Thank you to our team, everyone who donated, and Lions Services for an inspiring morning. 💙

Providing a thorough, comprehensive exam while respecting a patient's time is a balance we strive for every day. Receiving this feedback from a patient with decades of experience in healthcare administration is a tremendous compliment to Dr. Bell and our Huntersville team.

If the world around you is starting to look a little faded or slightly yellowed, you might be experiencing one of the earliest signs of cataracts.

Cataracts can develop slowly, gradually clouding your vision and dulling vibrant colors over time. Fortunately, modern cataract surgery is a highly effective way to restore clear, bright vision.

Learn more about why colors fade and how it can be treated in our recent blog: https://www.horizoneye.com/blog/colors-look-faded

Use your FSA dollars before they expire. Many FSA programs reset at the end of the calendar year. That means you could lose any funds in your account if you don't use them!

Call us today for an appointment, 704-365-0555. Ask how your unused FSA dollars can go towards popular procedures like LASIK or even eyeglasses. Don't wait until it's too late!
