Meningitis can be serious. Know the signs. Know your vaccine.

Meningitis is inflammation of the lining around the brain and spinal cord. Some types can spread from person to person and cause serious illness.

🚩 Know the signs: fever, severe headache, stiff neck, confusion, sensitivity to light, nausea or vomiting, and sometimes a rash.

💉 Vaccination can help prevent some types of meningitis. Talk with your healthcare provider to find out which meningococcal vaccines are recommended for you or your child.

Every overdose loss is a tragedy—and a call to end stigma. 💜

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and remind our communities that addiction is a health issue—not a moral failing.

When we replace judgment with compassion and support, recovery becomes possible. No one should have to face addiction alone.

Things your dentist wishes you’d stop doing...

Your dentist might love you a little more if you stopped:
🦷 Using your teeth as tools — No opening packages with your teeth!
🪥 Brushing too hard — More pressure doesn’t mean a better clean.
🧵 Skipping between your teeth — Brushing alone doesn’t reach everywhere.
🥤 Constantly sipping sugary drinks — Give your teeth a break between meals and drinks.
😬 Ignoring tooth pain — If something hurts, don’t wait for it to get worse.
📅 Putting off dental visits — Regular checkups can help catch problems early.

Your oral health is part of your overall health. Take care of your smile! 💙

Every August, the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee hosts to encourage families, communities, and organizations to come together for action and conversations about how we can build a stronger support network for breastfeeding parents! 💖

This year’s theme is RISE, which stands for: Resilience, Interdependence, Self-determination, and Empowerment! 🐦‍🔥This year's theme was created by USBC to capture the heart and strength of the field while also honoring the change and growth that are still needed to further equitable access to breastfeeding support for all families.
