This past weekend, we had the incredible opportunity to celebrate the 100th birthday of a truly remarkable resident, Glorie!

When Glorie first moved in, she told us that one of her life goals was to live to be 100. We are so thankful that she was able to achieve this incredible milestone and celebrate it surrounded by the people who care about her.

We presented Glorie with a framed Certificate of Achievement from Governor Josh Stein, enjoyed live music from David Shoff, and listened to a beautiful speech from her son, Peter. The celebration continued with a champagne toast and cake for everyone to enjoy.

We love moments like this that bring everyone together to celebrate such an incredible accomplishment. Happy 100th birthday, Glorie! We are so grateful to celebrate this very special milestone with you.

Today, we were grateful to welcome a wonderful group of volunteers who spent time with our residents creating beautiful fresh flower arrangements. Together, they selected blooms, shared stories, and enjoyed meaningful conversation while designing unique arrangements to brighten their homes. Our residents love the warmth and brightness that fresh flowers bring to our community.

Our residents had a wonderful time getting creative today by painting ceramic bears with bright, summer-inspired designs! One of our favorite parts of every craft is seeing how everyone starts with the same project and often even the same color palette, yet each finished piece reflects its creator's own unique style and personality.

At Waltonwood Cotswold, our Life Enrichment team loves providing weekly craft classes because they're so much more than just a fun program. Creative projects like painting help support fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, encourage focus and problem-solving, provide a relaxing outlet for self-expression, and can even reduce stress and promote a sense of accomplishment. For older adults, these experiences also foster social connection and cognitive engagement, making each craft an opportunity to support overall well-being while creating something beautiful to be proud of.

This week, we're shining a spotlight on Woodlyn, a sweet 5-year-old cat who is looking for a loving forever home.

Woodlyn is a friendly and playful cat who enjoys meeting new people and has done well living with older children. She loves staying active with interactive toys and making good use of her scratching posts. Woodlyn would do best in a home that can offer her fun ways to play and engage each day. If you're looking for a social, playful companion, Woodlyn could be a great fit for your home.

Could Woodlyn be the perfect addition to your family, or do you know someone searching for a loyal companion? Please help us spread the word by sharing our post!

One year later, Sue and Stella are still as inseparable as ever.

Last summer, we shared the story of the special bond between our resident Sue and her beloved Maltipoo, Stella. A year later, not much has changed, and that is exactly how they like it.

Stella continues to brighten not only Sue's days but also the lives of everyone she meets throughout our community. Whether she is making her rounds for treats, giving kisses, or curling up beside Sue for some quiet time, she reminds us every day of the incredible comfort, companionship, and unconditional love that pets provide.

Sue still says Stella has made her life so much better, and watching the two of them together is a beautiful reminder that home is wherever you are with the ones you love.

As we continue our partnership with the Humane Society of Charlotte, we are proud to celebrate the lasting bond between seniors and their pets. Thank you, Sue and Stella, for reminding us that some bonds only grow stronger with time.

This week, we're shining a spotlight on Noble, a handsome 6 year old pup who is looking for a loving forever home.

Noble recently arrived at the Humane Society of Charlotte from another shelter, so not much is known about his past. But one thing the staff and volunteers already know is that he's a good dog with so much love to give. Sometimes all a dog needs is someone willing to give them a chance to let their personality shine.

Could Noble be the perfect addition to your family, or do you know someone searching for a loyal companion? Please help us spread the word by sharing our post!

Our partnership with the Humane Society of Charlotte continues, and now it's time to help make an even greater impact. We invite our residents, families, team members, and friends to join us in supporting animals in need through our donation drive.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide care, comfort, and hope for pets awaiting their forever homes. Thank you for helping us support this wonderful organization and its lifesaving mission. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local animals.
