Introducing Hypnos: the first hip abduction assist brace.

For patients with Trendelenburg gait, hip abductor weakness can make it difficult to keep the pelvis level during walking.

Hypnos is designed to address that weakness mechanically, delivering dynamic, patient-adjustable abduction assistance to supplement deficient hip abductor function and support more stable gait mechanics.

Relearning to walk after a stroke can require a very different level of support.

The Zeus KAFO + FCD gives clinicians the ability to limit knee flexion or provide full extension lockout when greater stability is needed. As the patient’s needs change, support can be adjusted toward the brace’s dynamic energy return system for a more dynamic configuration.

A closer look at the full first-use experience.

This patient has experienced severe knee hyperextension and foot drop following a stroke, creating a complex combination of lower extremity weakness and instability.

In this full video, we first look at her pre-brace gait and the underlying mechanics contributing to the hyperextension and foot drop. From there, you can see her custom Zeus KAFO with the Flexion Control Dial being introduced and adjusted to provide greater mechanical support at the knee.

The video then follows her first steps in the brace, beginning with support from the parallel bars and progressing to her first steps without that aid.

This is an initial use rather than a long-term outcome, but it provides a detailed look at how the FCD can be used within a custom KAFO for a complex presentation.

More than 40 years of severe knee hyperextension. Countless braces tried.

This patient has lived with long-term lower extremity weakness and instability following a stroke. Her custom Zeus KAFO with the new Flexion Control Dial was configured to provide greater mechanical support at the knee and adjustable control of permitted flexion.

The FCD gives clinicians another way to configure a KAFO for patients with significant weakness, instability, or recurrent knee buckling, including the ability to limit permitted knee flexion or provide full extension lockout when needed.

This video captures her first fitting with the Zeus + FCD.
