Big Congratulations to Dr. Gaskin on being named a 2026 Fellow in the LaCross AI Institute’s FAIR program!

Dr. Gaskin will collaborate with colleagues across the University of Virginia on designing radiology AI that enhances how clinicians and technology work together — all with a strong emphasis on ethical, responsible innovation.

We’re excited to celebrate our Interim Chair, Christopher (Cree) Gaskin, MD, on being named a 2026 Fellow in the LaCross AI Institute’s FAIR program!

Over the next two years, Dr. Gaskin will collaborate with colleagues across the University of Virginia on research focused on designing radiology AI that enhances how clinicians and technology work together — all with a strong emphasis on ethical, responsible innovation.

We are proud to see his leadership recognized and look forward to the impact this work will have on patient care.

Congratulations to Professor Stuart Berr, PhD, and Associate Professor Joseph Rispoli, PhD, who earned a Transformative Neuroscience Pilot Grant from the UVA Brain Institute this past November!

Their project aims to gather important preliminary data on integrated PET/MRI imaging, an important step for future high-impact PET/MRI neuroscience research.

Juliana Bueno, MD, professor of radiology and medical imaging, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Susan Kirk Excellence in GME Mentorship Award. This honor highlights Dr. Bueno’s dedication to educating and mentoring residents and fellows. She currently serves as vice chair of education for UVA Radiology and previously led the department as program director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency. Congratulations to Dr. Bueno on this well-deserved recognition.
