Happy Saturday everyone! Hoping you all are doing well in these unusual times. While adapting to being home, we have tried to surround ourselves with as much comfort and beauty as possible as well as trying to keep the germs at bay. As a body worker, I have a HUGE stash of essential oils and a great little diffuser, so I decided to bring them home to brighten our house. Now I’m not 100% sure what I think about essential oils, but I lean toward the “couldn’t hurt” camp, and of course in times of illness, the go to is Thieves oil. Got the diffuser set up, put a few drops in of my homemade thieves blend and was enjoying the lovely cinnamony clovey scent when I had a little passing thought of “wait, aren’t some essential oils bad for dogs?” Quick search found the answer...and holy cow like 75% of the oil in thieves is toxic to dogs! Needless to say, A) we quickly shut the diffuser off and opened the windows, B) am SO glad I checked and C) both of the dogs are a-ok as we didn’t have it going very long. So I just thought I would PSA the list and remind everyone that things that smell good to human nose may be WAY too powerful and even toxic to furbabies

Dear friends and clients, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that I will be closing my office for the time being due to the continuing spread of Covid-19. Though I believe the likelihood of contamination is small as my office and practice are relatively isolated, it is more important to me at this point to be part of the solution in flattening the curve and out of an abundance of caution and care for all of you and our community, I will be closing the doors for at least 2 weeks or until it has been deemed ok to reopen. I am leaving the calendar open starting in 2 weeks as well as the ability to purchase gift certificates for future use. Please everyone be safe and I look forward to being part of your wellness journey when we are all on the other side of this!

In health,
Jennifer

Here's a peek into what our patients have to say about their experience at Charlottesville Chiropractic:

"I have been to lots of chiropractors in my life, and can say with certainty that Dr. Tickel is by far the best I've ever had. His knowledge and skill is bar none. He takes the time to sit down and talk to you about your symptoms, then he does a physical examination and explores different ranges of motion and asks which cause pain or not. Then he addresses the issue. I like him because he teaches me how a body works, and the steps I should take to stay healthy. I have found my lifetime chiropractor who I will forever be grateful for."

"I had an issue with my neck related to lifting weights that I had been dealing with off and on for about 8-10 months. In the past, when this injury would happen, it would limit my ability to lift for several weeks. Dr. Tickel was able to diagnose, treat and get me back to lifting the very next day. Great office and friendly/welcoming staff. Thank you Dr. Tickel! Strong recommendation."
