One of my favorite things about teaching doulas isn't the training itself.

It's what happens afterward.

The text messages after a first birth.
The phone calls when something unexpected happens.
The excitement when a student realizes, "I can do this."

I've trained more than 1,600 doulas over the years, and one thing hasn't changed:

The doulas who succeed aren't the ones who know everything.

They're the ones who keep learning, keep asking questions, and stay connected to support.

No one should have to figure out birth work alone.

Birth doesn't have to feel terrifying.

One of the biggest challenges facing pregnant women today is the amount of fear surrounding birth. Fear is not preparation.

Preparation comes from education, understanding your options, and having the right support around you.

After more than 30 years as a childbirth educator and attending over 1,000 births, I've seen what happens when women feel informed and supported.
