Sleep deprivation is common in pregnancy and postpartum, and many new parents know it can feel almost impossible to โ€œsleep when the baby sleeps.โ€

But chronic sleep deprivation can have a serious impact on mental health, increasing symptoms of anxiety, depression, irritability, and emotional overwhelm.

When possible, consider options such as staggering sleep shifts with a partner, asking for additional support, or working with a sleep consultant to help protect your mental health during the postpartum period. ๐Ÿ’›

Postpartum intimacy struggles are far more common than many women are led to believe yet so many carry shame, confusion, or silence around it. Changes in hormones, healing, exhaustion, identity shifts, mental health, and the demands of motherhood can all impact intimacy after having a baby.

Too often, these experiences are minimized or dismissed by providers, leaving women feeling alone in something that is incredibly valid and human. You deserve support, honest conversations, and compassionate care.
