Mr. Gerald L. Stone, 66, of Chatham, Virginia entered into a peaceful rest on June 2, 2026, in Hock Family Pavilion, Durham, NC.

Born June 13, 1959 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late George Stone and Elizabeth Coles Stone, who survives. He was married to Lorine Stone, who survives. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, George Jr. and Leon Stone.

He was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System. He was employed as a manager for Hardee's.

He was a member of Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother and wife, he leaves a son, John Crews (Yvonne) of Evington, VA; two daughters, Tanesha Taylor (Antwain) of Danville, VA and LaTonya Townes of Java, VA; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; seven brothers, Michael Stone (Phyllis) of Axton, VA, Matthew Stone (Margie) of Gretna, VA, Brian (Melody), Chris and Reggie Fitzgerald all of Danville, VA, Jeffrey Stone of Chatham, VA and Kelvin Fitzgerald of Charlotte, NC; an aunt, Mary Hodnett of Danville, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m from Shockoe Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Antonel A. Myler, Sr., Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Mr. Brandon Wilson Sr., 43, of 907 Colquhoun Street, Danville, Virginia departed this life May 28, 2026 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born July 3, 1982 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late Luther and Betty Oaks Wilson.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory a son; Brandon Wilson, Jr. (BJ), a daughter, Tamariona Thomas both of Danville, VA; a brother, Jerrell Wilson of Appomattox, VA; a devoted friend, Tameka Fitzgerald of Danville, VA; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Younger, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 4- 6 p.m. from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home.

Family will receive guest at the residence of Tameka Fitzgerald and Brandon Jr., 41 Garland St. Danville, VA and Terri Ferguson, 35 Lynn St. Chatham, VA.

Mr. William Keith, of 308 Upper Street, Danville, Virginia departed this earthly life Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Piney Forest Health and Rehab in Danville.

He was born January 19, 1966 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late Perry Keith Sr. and the late Joyce Clements Keith.

He is survived by three brothers, Perry Keith Jr., Michael Keith, both of Danville, VA, and Clarence Keith of Richmond; two sisters, Shirley Martin, of Danville and Nancy Jones, of Chatham; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from Callands Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Daye, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Larry Reid Thompson, 73, of Chatham, Virginia departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in Centra Specialty Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1953 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late William and Reva Morrison Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerald Thompson.

He was a member of Cherrystone Baptist Church, where he served on the Usher Board, Male Chorus and Senior Choir.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons; Dell O'Ryan Thompson of Fayetteville, NC and Charles Myers (Kira) of Raleigh, NC; four daughters, Britney and Whitney Thompson both of Danville, VA, LaReva Thompson of Georgia and LaTonia Myers of Florida; fifteen grandchildren, a great grandchild, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from Cherrystone Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Forrest, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Tony “Skully” White, 60, of 20008 Old Richmond Rd., Keeling, VA, departed this life on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at his residence.

He was born November 16, 1965 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of James Lanier and the late Elnora Marable White. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Cynthia White and Gwendolyn Anderson and his bonus father, William “Peter” White.

He was educated in the Pittsylvania County School System.

In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory are his son; Terrance Polk (Nakeitha), Hilda Polk, the mother of his son; grandchildren, Jeriq and Mi'Kyah Faulkner, and his goddaughter, Kelda Whitehead; three sisters, Sharon and Lynette Lanier and Cheryl Hairston (Roy) and a brother; James Lanier; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from Mt. Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Elder William Howerton, Eulogist.

Mr. Perry L. Howerton (Mann), 70, of McLeansville, NC., entered into a peaceful rest Monday, May 4, 2026 in University of Maryland Captial Region Medical Center.

He was born April 22, 1956 in Virginia. He was the son of the late Perry O. Howerton and Mary Logan Howerton, who survives. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Howerton.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from the United States Post Office.

In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish his precious memory two sisters; Jennifer Howerton-Wharton of Danville, VA and Mia Dawn Howerton of Suitland, MD; a host of cousins and other close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Howerton will be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 12:00 Noon from North New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William S. Wilson, Jr., Presiding. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park with military rites.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Mr. Calvin Starling, 70, of Chatham, VA, entered into a peaceful rest, Wednesday, April 29 at the residence of his daughter, Angela Starling.

He was born May 3, 1955 in Pittsylvania County. He was the son of the late Willie and Blanch Webb Starling.
He was married to Janice Starling, who survives.

He was a member of St. Paul Outreach Center and was employed by Haymes Brothers Construction Company.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters; Angela and Tonya Starling, both of Chatham; two brothers, Charlie Starling, of Maryland and Jack Starling , of Chatham; five sisters, Peggy Farrish, of DC, Vernell Goggins, Mary Starling, Betty Jones, all of Chatham; and Francis Chaney, of Ringgold; three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from Howerton Funeral Home with Pastor Gloria Starling, Eulogist. Interment will be in Cherrystone Church Cemetery.

He was born July 28, 1969 in Danville, Virginia. He was the son of Robert Dixon and Norma Womack Richardson. He was married to Priscilla Womack, who survives.

He was a member of Lively Stones Baptist Church. He was employed by Olive Garden.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by one son, Cayden Womack, of Pelham, NC; three daughters, Cierra Womack, of Roanoke, VA, Piper and Cassidy Womack, both of Pelham, NC; two sisters, Erica and Robin Dixon, both of Raleigh, NC; brothers-in-law, CE Cassady, David Cassady (Tonya), mother -in-law Dorothy Cassady; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Womack will be Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00 from Lively Stones Baptist Church, 2347 Chandler Mill Rd, Pelham, NC, with Pastor Michael Kent, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born March 2, 1950 in Pittsylvania County. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Inez Younger Davis. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Willie Mae Lipford, Margie Robertson, and Mattie Bell Coles.

She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Wanda Green of Danville, VA and Samantha Davis of NC; a son, James Tisdall, Jr. of MD; two sisters, Faye Davis and Janet Martin (John) both of Chatham, VA; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Kimberly D. Logan, of 9000 Burly Circle, Brandywine, MD., departed this life Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at her residence.

Born November 6, 1975 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Lawrence Logan and Joyce Jones Logan, who survives.

She graduated from Pittsylvania County Schools and worked as a Banker until her health failed.
She was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents she is survived by a son, JaMarcus Logan of Maryland; eight uncles, one aunt; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Howerton Funeral Home with Pastor Gloria Starling and Pastor Michael Bethel, Officiating. Interment will follow in New Beginning In Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
