🎶 Tumble outta bed and stumble to the NICU… 🎶

It’s 9/25, and our littlest stars are working 9 to 5—Dolly style! 💕🤠

During NICU Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on the mighty babies who work hard every day to grow stronger—and the families and NICU teams cheering them on every step of the way.

So today, our little Dollys and cowboys are celebrating with big hair, cowboy boots, a little sparkle and, of course, butterflies. 🦋✨

Here’s to growing wings, big dreams and a little Dolly magic. 🦋💗

💓 Does your heart ever feel like it’s pounding, racing, fluttering or skipping a beat? These sensations can be signs of heart palpitations.

Heart palpitations are common, but some may need medical attention. Seek medical care if palpitations keep coming back or occur with symptoms of chest pain, fainting, severe dizziness or shortness of breath.

Triggers can be different for everyone. Stress, caffeine, poor sleep, dehydration, certain medications and other factors may play a role.

September is NICU Awareness Month — a time to recognize the babies, families and care teams who are part of the NICU journey.

A NICU stay doesn’t mean you have to miss out on bonding with your baby or being part of their care. At Parkridge East Hospital, parents and caregivers are encouraged to be involved as much as possible, helping families build confidence for the transition home.

And when you can’t be at the hospital, the Angel Eye camera system offers a 24/7 livestream so you can stay connected with your baby from wherever you are.

Hear from Olivia Jernigan, NICU director, about how our team helps families stay involved throughout their NICU experience.

🏗️ at Parkridge Medical Center 🏥

Progress continues on our new patient tower, an investment designed to expand access to high-quality, patient-centered care for the people and families we serve.

This project reflects our commitment to clinical excellence and innovation, with 50 new beds planned when the tower opens to help meet our community’s growing healthcare needs.

As construction moves forward, we’re building more than a new space. We’re creating an environment designed to support patients, equip our care teams and strengthen care delivery across our community.

This week we have an update about Tower Tuesday. We hope you've enjoyed seeing our progress and can't wait to share more soon!

During National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, we’re highlighting the many ways inpatient rehabilitation can support recovery and help people work toward greater independence.

At Parkridge Health System, rehabilitation can take many forms — including engaging activities like Duck Hunt, ball toss and apple picking. Games and hands-on activities can be incorporated into therapy sessions as patients practice movement, coordination and everyday skills as part of an individualized rehabilitation plan.

Our acute inpatient rehabilitation program brings physical, occupational and speech therapy together with coordinated hospital-based care for people recovering from serious illness, injury or surgery.

🤢 Is it a stomach bug, food poisoning or something more serious?

Mild nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may improve with rest and fluids. But some digestive symptoms — like signs of dehydration, blood in your stool, vomit, a high fever or severe stomach pain — shouldn’t be ignored.

Understanding the warning signs can help you know when symptoms may be managed at home and when to seek urgent or emergency care.
