Summer is the perfect time for kids to get outside, stay active, and have fun! ☀️🏃♀️⚽
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), regular physical activity helps children build strong bones and muscles, maintain a healthy weight, improve sleep, reduce stress, and support emotional well-being.
As activity levels increase, safety matters too. The AAP recommends:
💧 Stay hydrated before, during, and after activity
🧢 Wear appropriate safety gear, including helmets when needed
☀️ Use sunscreen and take breaks from the heat
🏃 Choose activities that are appropriate for your child's age and skill level
🚨 Teach children to listen to their bodies and stop if they feel dizzy, lightheaded, or overheated
Persistent pain, limping, swelling, or repeated complaints of discomfort should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
The goal isn't just to keep kids active, it's to keep them healthy, safe, and having fun while they do it. 💛
