🌟 IntraKey Nursing Services at the Career Fair & Expo 🌟

Today, IntraKey Nursing Services was pleased and honored to participate in the Career Fair & Expo hosted by Globe Evangelical Church.

What a meaningful and inspiring day! We had the opportunity to share knowledge and wisdom about healthcare and medical career pathways, helping our young people understand the many opportunities available to them as they begin thinking about their futures.

But today was about much more than choosing a career. ❤️

We listened to powerful stories from professionals who shared their journeys; how they started with a small dream, a seed, an opportunity, or sometimes uncertainty, and continued growing through education, perseverance, mentorship, faith, and hard work into the careers they have today.

Our children were educated, encouraged, and empowered to explore different possibilities for their futures. Parents were also encouraged to recognize their important role in helping children discover their gifts, supporting their educational journey, and guiding them without limiting their dreams.

At IntraKey Nursing Services, we believe healthcare is not only a profession; it is an opportunity to serve, to make a difference, and to impact lives. We were grateful to share our experiences in nursing, home healthcare, and the broader medical field with the next generation.

Thank you to Globe Evangelical Church for creating a space where our children could dream, ask questions, meet professionals, and see that every successful journey begins somewhere.

🌱 Expose them. Educate them. Encourage them. Mentor them. And give them room to dream.

Today, seeds were planted. We look forward to seeing what they become.

The privilege of home care goes far beyond clinical skills, it is about connecting with people where life truly happens.

Today, during a home assessment, I had the privilege of caring for a retired nurse. As we completed the clinical evaluation, she invited me to pause for a moment and look out over the peaceful water behind her home.

She shared stories of her life, her nursing journey, and the joy she finds in creating art. Pointing toward the small platform floating on the water, she smiled and explained how she spends time there drawing and finding peace.

In that moment, I was reminded that our patients are more than their diagnoses, medications, lab results, or vital signs. They are individuals with rich histories, passions, talents, and stories that deserve to be heard.

As healthcare professionals; whether you’re a nurse, nurse practitioner, physician, therapist, or home health aide; we should never become so task-focused that we miss the person behind the chart.

Home care gives us a unique privilege. We are welcomed into our patients’ homes, where we see the environment that has shaped them, the memories they’ve built, the artwork they’ve created, the gardens they’ve nurtured, the photographs they’ve treasured, and the lives they’ve lived.

These moments deepen our understanding of who they are and allow us to provide truly holistic, patient-centered care. Sometimes the greatest intervention isn’t another medication adjustment, it’s taking a few extra minutes to listen, learn, and connect.

At IntraKey Nursing Services, we believe exceptional care is about treating the whole person, not just the condition. Every home tells a story, and every patient has one worth hearing.

To all healthcare professionals providing care in the home: don’t just see the patient; see their world. You may leave having made a difference in their life, but you’ll often find they have changed yours as well.
